Vehicle Detail

In the spring of 1968, John Durant walked into Jack Wall Chevrolet in Pasadena, California and purchased a new Camaro. His Camaro was a base model with the 327/210 horsepower engine and a 3 speed manual transmission with a console. It was finished in Rallye Green with black interior. Mr. Durant lived in Los Angeles and drove the car the 6 mile round trip to work for the next 16 years. In 1984 Mr. Durant died and left the car to his son John. When the son picked the car up in California it had logged only 24,000 miles on the odometer. The son drove the car back to Arizona and started using it as a daily driver. Unfortunately, he did not give the Camaro the care that his father had. He removed the black plates and added some after market wheels. He drove it until 1989 and then parked it on the side of his mobil home out in the desert and it sat there until a few weeks ago. Too bad he didn't store the car correctly, it could have been an amazing find. Not much has happened to the car since 89. The mice moved in, the sun took a toll on the paint and interior, the battery leaked and rusted a part of the passenger fender, and the owner stole the headlights out of it to put in his junker he was driving at the time. The car is now in need of a total restoration. The good news is that is has spent its whole life in California and Arizona. It is one of the driest, most rust free Camaros that I have ever come across. The floors, trunk and quarter panels are mint condition. The only rust, like I mentioned before is on the passenger side fender and that is only due to a leaking battery. The interior in all original but roached from the mice and the sun. The engine is the original 327 with the factory smog equipment still intact. (I have not tried to start it) The trans is also original with the original shifter. This car is light on options and has no power steering or brakes. This is the perfect car to turn into a resto mod, or restore back to original. It is a manual transmission car, so it would be a easy to turn it into a 4 speed. Looking to buy a 1959 Impala Convertible..Finders fees paid I am offering this car at no reserve.
