Vehicle Detail
1973.5 Porsche 911T targa This car needs a full restoration Original Black/Black car, color code: 700. Very rare to find an original black car from this period. Original California Blue plate car, with both plates and old CA pink slip title This is the first year car with the very reliable smooth CIS injection system, one of my favorite early 911 engines. Previous 911T cars got mechanical fuel injection which was overly complex, expensive to work with and could fall out of tune. The Continuous Injection System (CIS) is a very simple system that operated on pressure and vacuum. Porsche, Volkswagen, BMW, Mercedes, Ferrari, Lamborghini ALL ended up using this type of fuel injection on a majority of their cars from the mid 70s to the early 80s - it is reliable, simple to tune, and gets great fuel efficiency. This was a very high tech car when it was first introduced. I figure you could get as much as 10mpg more with this fuel system over carburetors. This particular car was acquired with the engine out of the car. The story was, engine was rebuilt and never re-installed in the car. The engine and car have been sitting for many years, some mice built a nest on the top of the motor, yuck. The nest was removed and all the parts were mockup on the engine to make sure the parts were all there. I put the engine back in the car for shipment but it is not quite ready to run. The case is a 7R case that is BLANK - no serial numbers or type number stamped into this case as it is a replacement case, So theoretically you could stamp this as a T case E, S or RS case if you wanted to and it is a correct case for late 1973. The cylinder heads on the engine are 73.5 CIS heads, but the cylinder are aluminum which makes me think it may have been converted to a 2.7L (original 2.4T engine got cast iron cylinders). I have no paperwork on the engine. It will need work before it is run again, I think it will only need external mechanic work, and the engine will not need to come apart. The shop that rebuilt the engine did not re-assemble the exterior parts to the engine. Original 915 5 speed transmission included Original options include: cookie cutter wheels, factory A/C, front and rear sway bars, wheel well trim, fog lights The main floor pans are solid with no holes, rockers are solid original great condition, the front suspension pan could use some work, rear seat bottoms will also need to be work on as they are rusty. This car is far better than most of the projects I see from other parts of the country, it is not rusted through like cars from wet states. Doors shut well and have no rust on them, front and rear hoods are nice with no rust, bumpers all seem good from the outside. The interior is worn, the front seats are high back seats that I put into the car so there was some type of seat. Sold AS-IS, please know what you are buying. This is a project car. Worldwide shipping. I have a shipping company that will handle all your needs. Shipping to Europe is approximately $1300
