Vehicle Detail
SWG 18 1952 ROLLS-ROYCE If there was one Rolls-Royce that defines "The Art Deco look" this would be the one. With its sweeping fenders, full wheel skirts and angular two-tone paint scheme this car looks as if it should be parked outside a caf'e on Miami Beach. It has a full bench front seat allowing for three people to ride up front, and a very rare Webasto sliding sunroof. This is a fun car to drive and be seen driving it. Body built by ParkWard While most of the top names in coachbuilding established themselves in the days of horse-drawn carriages, ParkWard was founded in 1919 to produce high-class coachwork and in 1920 they bodied their first Rolls-Royce. By 1930 ninety percent of ParkWard's total output of bodies were on Rolls-Royce chassis. Rolls-Royce purchased the firm in 1939 and ParkWard continued not only to produce bodies but also did all of Rolls-Royce experimental car bodies. In 1961 two years after Rolls-Royce purchased H.J. Muliner the two companies became as one (Muliner-ParkWard) and are still in business today. On Oct-17-12 at 07:17:53 PDT, seller added the following information: It was brought to my attention that the correct Vin # is WSG 18 and they are right sorry for the mistake. If you wish pictures of the chassis and engine please emails me a filefax inc (at) m s n (dot) com.
