Up for sale is first generation 1961 Chevrolet Corvair. It has the 2.4l flat six cylinder with the Powerglide automatic transmission. I bought this for a summer cruiser but no longer have the time to enjoy it. Overall this car is in nice shape for the year and is complete. It is your classic "20 footer" and is very presentable. It definitely turns some heads. It could be driven and enjoyed as-is or could be a candidate for a restoration. While it is nice, it isn't perfect. The paint is newer and looks good however it is not perfect. There is a little orange peal in a few places and the tape lines aren't perfect. The car ran and drove when parked in storage last fall. It has not been moved or started since. I tried to start it today. It turned over strong but didn't want to fire. I suspect the carbs could use a good cleaning. The engine will need to be gone through before I would use it as a daily driver. The odometer reads 56,XXX but it could possibly be 156,XXX The interior is in very nice shape. The lights all work. Original radio is included. It is missing a trim piece from behind the rear bench seat and also on the passenger side rocker panel. The speedometer is also not working. This is a great winter project for some to be ready to cruise next summer. Please look at the pictures and ask any questions you may have. I can get additional pictures if requested.
