Vehicle Detail
This vehicle is a 1968 Ford F-100 Full Size Ranger. This vehicle was purchased by my grandfather as a toy or a hobby approximately four years ago. The truck has been equipped with a 302 V-8 engine with a 3/4 cam and a 3 speed in the floor manuel transmission. The engine work had been done on this truck previously to my grandfather purchasing it. The previous owner stated that the engine had been transferred from a Ford Mustang GT. According the previous owner, the engine was completely redone and a 3/4 cam was installed. I can attest that this truck runs well and will thump the ground under your feet. I will be honest and tell you that it isn't the most fuel efficient vehicle, by no means. If you're into raw power, it has all you want from a 302 engine. The previous owner had also installed "cherry bomb" mufflers and headers, so it's by no means quiet at this point. My grandfather is nearing 80 years old and has tinkered with old trucks the majority of his life. When he first purchased this vehicle, around four years ago, we removed the bed from the frame, cleaned, chassis blacked, and undercoated the undercarriage and eventually put a bright canary yellow paint job on the trucks exterior and interior. We also had the bench seat recovered with new black vinyl and cloth. We also put all new black carpet in it and a new black dash pad and door panels. At that time, we also applied a black "roll on" bedliner, but it now has some peeling spots. Prior to my Grandfather buying the truck, the previous owner had replaced the bottom of the bed by neatly welding in a steel plate. To the best of my knowledge, the interior of the bed is still "rust free". We never did get around to installing a headliner. As you will see in the photos, it is equipped with a working AM/FM radio. This truck is still all original with the exception of the built engine and the mag wheels. The tires have probably a 40% - 50% tread life remaining. Since my Grandfather got this truck completed, it has mostly sit in the garage just for him to start and listen to every three or four days (kindly funny... but true). It gets driven around the block about once every four to six weeks, other than that, it has just occupied space in the garage. I have personally only driven this truck for "maybe" a total of (30) miles since he has owned it. Unfortunately, his health has greatly declined due to vehicle falling on him a couple years ago. This broke his back and pelvis and he just isn't able to work on these trucks much anymore with the exception of (10) or (15) minutes at a time. I tried to talk him into letting this truck go over a year ago and he just couldn't do it. I work 50-60 hours a week in addition to trying to help him, so needless to say, we don't get much done anymore. This truck will fire right up and run great. In fact, if anyone would like to hear it, I have also made a short video of it firing up and running. If any potential buyers would be interested, you're welcome to provide me with an email address and I will be glad to attach and send you the video. When this truck was originally painted about three and a half or four years ago, it looked really sharp. The paint job has somewhat deteriorated and now has some small cracks here and there. I have made certain to show all of these places "in detail" in the attached photos. You will also see where some minor surface rust is starting on the bottom of the door and behind the back wheel. As you will see, these are only small "bubble rust" spots right now and a good body man could remedy this problem in minimal time. As you will also see, the dash pad has a real small (approx. 1/8 inch) puncture in it right above the steering wheel. I honestly have no idea how this happened and he doesn't either. To the best of my knowledge the original mileage on this truck is 70, 214 miles. Between the both of us, we may have put between 75 and 100 miles on this truck since he has owned it. He has never even tagged or registered this truck because it just sits in the garage. He does hold a clear title for the truck. I have finally convinced him that there is no need of hanging on to this truck and allowing it to continue to go down hill. All it needs is a good home and somebody that has a little time to spend on it. The chrome and aluminum accessories on the engine will "shine up" like new. I know because I had it in that condition approximately a year ago. Due to neither of us being able to tend to this truck, I have talked him into pricing it to sell. I think you will be surprised of the low reserve that has been placed on this truck. It does have quite a bit of sentimental value to me, so I only asked that it goes to a home where it's going to be taken good care of. I can me emailed anytime at gilley321@yahoo.com . My name is Chad and I will be more than happy to assist any serious and able bidders in any way I can. There isn't anything else left that I can tell you about this truck that you really can't see with your own eyes when viewing the photos. I have attached more than plenty! To the best of my knowledge, this truck is as solid as a rock, with the exception of the minor problems you will see in the attached photos. I have only been able to attach 24 pictures being that is all Ebay allows. I have around 30 more pictures plus a video if any potential serious and able bidders would like to email me, I would be more than happy to send you the remainder of the photos and video. I have "shot as straight" as I possibly know how and I only ask for the same in return. With this being said..... PLEASE ONLY SERIOUS AND ABLE BIDDERS/BUYERS! GOOD LUCK BIDDERS AND IF I CAN BE OF ANY ASSISTANCE TO YOU, PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO EMAIL ME. I WILL CHECK IT VARIOUS TIMES THROUGHOUT THE DAY. Thank each of you in advance!
