Vehicle Detail

This no reserve auction is for my 1983 Honda CX650 Turbo with 18,941 original miles on it as pictured below. I purchased this motorcycle from the third owner in 2008 with 13,752 miles on it. I have included numerous photos for your careful review. I am omitting the features and specifications on the assumption that if you are looking for one of these bikes you already are familiar with them. This motorcycle was my rider, but it is time for someone else to ride and enjoy it! No known major issues – it starts, stops, runs, rides, shifts, etc. fine. The ECU and all sensors are working properly as evidenced by the fact that I do not get a Fuel System Warning light illumination. The turbo spools up and works properly, the waste gate is free and not stuck like some motorcycles that have been sitting! All indicator lights, gauges, horn and switches work properly. The bike is currently inspected. The fuel tank is in good condition, not rusty and does not leak; the tank level indicator still works properly. The seat tabs are both still present on the tank. The petcock also still works properly and does not leak. The Honda Air/Oil Monoshock was replaced with an adjustable, rebuildable Hagon Gas Monoshock made for this motorcycle (imported from Europe). The pro-link suspension linkage, which is prone to squeaking, was disassembled, cleaned and re-greased with high moly content grease when the Hagon shock was installed. The stator was replaced at 16,500 miles with one from Custom Rewind out of Alabama. Some other preventive work, including the mechanical water pump seal and engine speed sensor replacement, were also done at that time (see notes below). This spring, the brake system was completely overhauled and rebuilt. The tires were also replaced this spring, at which time the rear splines were cleaned and regreased with Honda Moly. I recently started noticing a little bit of noise from the clutch basket, which seems to go away when the lever is pulled in. I don’t think it is anything to be worried about at this point, but I wanted to mention it. The oil and filter were recently changed. I run Mobil Racing 4T 10w40 Synthetic Motorcycle oil in the crankcase and Redline 75W90 Synthetic Gear Oil in the final drive. The battery is 2 years old and is a Deka AGM sealed maintenance free battery. This motorcycle is complete with no missing parts that I am aware of. The original tool kit is complete and on the motorcycle, along with the owner’s manual and tire gauge and their associated case. I do not have any of the original plastic coated keys. The ignition switch was replaced so there is actually a separate key for the ignition from everything else. The motorcycle has an OEM Honda Canadian/European version CX650 Turbo Seat on it, which I purchased new from a dealer in late 2008 (have receipt). The turn signal lenses are original and are all in good shape with no cracks in them. The valve covers were polished, which took the areas of black paint off of them, but it could easily be reapplied. The previous owner stated that the motorcycle blew over in his driveway, resulting in the right side fairing cosmetics getting slightly damaged in the small area (definitely not beyond repair) that you see pictured. The fairing chin plate isn’t secured properly on that side, I think this also could be easily resolved. The motorcycle has various scratches and cosmetic imperfections etc. due to its age and mileage. While it may not be a museum piece, this motorcycle still attracted attention when I rode it to local shows and motorcycle events. This motorcycle was ridden fairly regularly and was meticulously maintained during its time with me.
