I will buy a new VW Passat TDI and need to sell this one. These cars are a blast to drive. Great power, great handling and 38 MPG. I just spent over $4,000 on this car so it is ready for another 100k. It has 168k now and runs and drives great. A few scratches on paint but interior is near perfect. Tires have maybe 8k on them. Recent Maintenance: New timming belt and all components including water pump. New camshaft, lifters and bearings. Balance shaft delete kit. Google 2005 Passat tdi camshaft wear and balance shaft/ oil pump failure. These cars wear the lobes out on the camshafts and the oil pump drive will fail and your engine will fail. That is why this is all complete on my car. ALL of these cars have the problem and mine is fixed. These cars are selling for $12,000 and will still need the work. I love the car just want a newer one.
