Very solid, no bodywork or bondo anywhere, still in original paint. Lowered with Moss springs and bump stops, new steering rack, sport exhaust. Original dual SU carbs have been rebuilt, very reliable and full performance. Runs and drives very well. Valid 2012 Safety Inspection. Ready for fun! Only the right rear dogleg has a few of the classic MGB bubbles under the paint. It is not soft at all in that area, just bubbles under 40 year old paint. The original paint is faded somewhat, and does have a number of light scratches and chips. I don't know if you can say patina for a car as young as '73, but it is a presentable, nice 20-footer. It would be a great candidate for a sand and respray, but I have not done this because I think it looks pretty good for 40 years old, and as they say, "They are only original ONCE".
