For Sale is a Very Solid 1949 Chevy DeLuxe Fleetline Four Door. Restoration was started on this car about 20 years ago. The condition is as follows: Exterior: The car body is very solid, there was some rust repair done about 20 years ago, you can see this in the photos by the different color paint, the body work was done with replacement metal, and shows no signs of repair or rust coming back through. There is some very minor rust in the driver floor board, and a small amout in the left rear floor (see photo 21), under the sill plate area, other than that the car is 100% rust free. The lower moldings and sill plates were removed when the body work was done, but never reinstalled, the trim is included in the car sale. The balance of the paint is original, and has no major dent or other body damage. Most trim on the car is nice used, the trim off of the car has some dents, the grill is very nice, near perfect. All glass is good, no cracks. The trunk and spare tire well have on rust or damage, the car has the original spare tire, jack and hold down hardware. The car does have an original GM Factory Sun Visor, but it is not included with the car, it is being sold as a seperate auction because of several requests to buy it seperatly. The visor auction will end after the car, so the winning bidder of car will have a chance to buy the visor. The visor auction is starting at $9.99 with no reserve, to keep all things fair. Interior: The interior is 100% complete, the seats are very solid and have good springs, the dash is very nice, and all original. The door panels are worn but all trim is good, all windows roll up and down, all doors and door latchs are good, the doors close very solid. The car does have the original push button deluxe radio, wind up clock and lighter plus ash tray. The interior sun visors are nice used, the dome light housing and lens are good. Mechnical: The engine was relaced with an overhauled 235 6 cylinder with rod and main insert bearings, the past owner told me it was driver only about 500 miles. I have had the engine running, but had to feed it gas to keep it running, (guessing fuel pump problems), the motor sounded good, but did pop back throught the carburetor, I'm guessing a slightly stuck intake valve. The radiator was also rebuilt the same time the engine was installed. The transmission is the original 3 speed manual, the differential is also original. The brakes were also rebuilt 20 + years ago, but do not work now, the master clyinder is empty, so it will need some hydraulic work. All wheels are original all suspension looks good and shows no excessive wear. The tires have fair tread, but are very weathered, and would not be safe to drive, they do hold air. The car rolls freely and would be easy to load. Legal Stuff: The car does have a clear Kansas title. Depost of $500.00 with paypal is due at auction end, the balance of payment is due with money order or cash 7 days after auction end. The buyer is responsible of all transporation, the car will be stored outside at buyers risk. The buyer will have 60 days to pick the car up, after 60 days storage of $10.00 per day will be charged.
