Vehicle Detail

Tired of red Porsches??? here's a color that incites smiles and warm 60's feelings Champagne anyone? cuvee 1966 a very sweet year indeed in the very rare color of Champagne yellow code 6405(according to the 912registry.org there were very few produce and is one of the rarest of Porsche early colors) Offered here is a 1966 Porsche factory built 912 coupe ( they also assembled 912's at the Karmann factory hence why some are called Karmann coupes and others at the main factory in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen built) this 912 is all original except for the Nardi 15" steering wheel ( if you prefer the original 400mm batwing wheel, I can swap them) however the Nardi is beautiful and light, winning buyer can choose. this car has been repainted only once sometime in the last 5-7 years and still looks excellent except for a spot where it appears a little darker by the windshield. there is hardly any scratches and no dings, a truly beautiful body. No rust to be found and it is very solid top to bottom. a new suspension pan was installed probably when it was painted. the underside is free from any issues and nice as can be. rockers, jackpoints, parcel shelf, battery tray ect.. all in superb condition all body seals are new as well as all glass seals and aluminum trims. mechanically it is very sound and starts up on the first try every time. the engine runs good and has a few leaks and is due for a service which is very easy to do ( included with the sale is a service manual) there are ecclectic books on the ownership and servicing of the 356 and for the 912 so much so that some of those books sell on Ebay for $200-300 (i.e. "the Secrets of the inner circle" by Harry Pellow are legendary and fun to read) the 5 speed transmission is very smooth and quiet, when servicing and changing fluids, it revealed no metal shavings or particles. tires are brand new and brakes have a lot of life left . the interior is all original including the rare pepita fabric. the driver seat has one issue on the side bolster but not terribly bad. the dash has a composite cap but I can supply a nice original one in perfect condition to winning buyer however (windshield must be removed to install....something I dont want to do) the cap looks fine... all electricals function as they should, all lights, turn signals and horn. all gauges work and the car indicates 52k miles and I can believe it based on the condition, it looks like it was never taken apart nice chrome and green tinted glass, I rate the paint 7-8 out of 10 includes owners manual, partial toolkit and jack included. badges and collector California plates NOT included. free and clear title. these handle so well and have appreciated so much in the last 5 years that they are now emulating their predecessor the 356 and moving up in class with many fine examples now selling in the mid to upper 30K''s ...but truly buy it because its beautiful and you will get many smiles per miles guaranteed. Get it while you can. I will entertain serious offers No trades PHOTOALBUM HERE: http://www.flickr.com/photos/22815950@N07/sets/72157631575382090/show/ On Oct-01-12 at 07:25:25 PDT, seller added the following information: I wanted to add that the car has front sway bar and disc brakes all around, the engine number is 747803 On Oct-02-12 at 13:11:04 PDT, seller added the following information: OCTOBER 2nd UPDATE, the car came to me unfinished after being painted and stored for many years. It was missing many trim pieces and no hood badge. I installed an original, highly sought after, orange bar hood emblem with nice period patina . I also installed the missing front bumperettes and rocker deco trim. I put all new body seals and rubber deco trim all around except the front deco. it was also missing windshield and rear glass silver trim surround which I replaced including new seals. it does not have a rain tray for the engine compartment however they are available on Ebay very often. Most of these cars never see rain anyways. the other wheel is actually 420mm, its pretty big and heavy, its a matter of preference (additional see picture) the reserve has been met and the car will sell. ps je parle le Francais aussi if you need assistance with details or shipping email me and I'll provide a phone number so we can talk. .
