1987 Mercedes 300SDL turbo diesel 4 door sedan. 281,500k original miles. Runs and drives but needs work - a great solid project car or parts car. Interior in semi-rough condition. Smooth running Mercedes 6 cylinder turbo diesel engine. These engines typically run 500k miles plus without a rebuild. Hydraulic lifters don’t need valve adjustment like the older Mercedes diesel engines. These engines also run much smoother and more quietly than older Mercedes diesels. Excellent fuel economy with the diesel engine - 22 to 26 mpg. Super reliability. Last year we did an inspection of the crank and it was super smooth - no grooves or scratches. The entire fuel system was cleaned from the tank to the injectors, replaced two injectors and rebuilt the turbocharger (that alone was $1400) and filter and oil service completed. Very little rust on trunk lid, otherwise rust free. There are some dings and scratches and the paint is faded - buffing it would help a great deal.
