Vehicle Detail
California car with blue plates. Bought the car from a retired naval officer in Northern California. He acquired the car in 1973 from a friend. It was totally stripped to bare metal - any parts repaired- painted and rebuilt it in the mid nineties (most of the work done by J.D. Tomlinson & Co., and Mike Goodman's Sport Car Service in Van Nuys). Countless parts were replaced with new parts, including chrome, electrics, brakes, suspension etc.). Pictures and receipts documenting over $15,000 of work done between 1992-1996). No rust. Perfect bright-work/chrome. Car looks almost new. There are very few blemishes (very slight, shallow/barely visible dent on tip of front left of bonnet edge due to box in garage leaning against the hood; small, dime-sized paint chip on edge of driver's door; tiny scratch on rear wing that could easily be buffed out). Interior is in great condition. Dash is perfect (replaced in 1996 -- no cracks); carpet on transmission tunnel has wear patches near the stick-shift, but nothing serious; all other carpeting is in great condition. Floor boards and door jams are flawless. The trunk is perfect and there is a spare wheel. Wheels are knock-offs, with all tools needed. Convertible hood is in excellent shape and fits perfectly; plastic glass is clean with good visibility. The running gear is in excellent condition. No leaks anywhere. Suspension is virtually new, front and rear. Brakes are solid. Battery is in great shape. Car starts first time, every time. Engine runs all day at 70 MPH in 90 degrees heat of Southern California: no overheating (fan installed). I bought the car last year for my daughter to learn in, but I'm afraid she will only drive an automatic! I've just bought a Ducati and no longer have time for weekend runs in this baby, so, too many toys, hence the sale. There is over $15,000 of new parts and body-work/paint in addition to the original car, so you'll be getting a steal if it goes for less than ten grand. Cash, cashiers check required for immediate release. No foreign shipping. If you wish to pay by bank transfer of funds, I will only release the car after the funds have cleared. I have a clear title and tags are paid up till late 2013. No smog needed due to age of car.
