Vehicle Detail
All original K5 Chevy Blazer. No rust, never had any body work done - ever. All original drive train. No modifications ever. True and accurate miles. All original paint except for a bit of the striping which was just a touch faded when my father bought the truck about 16 years ago (if memory serves me right). He bought it with just over 75k on it from a co-worker because it was a good deal. His motive was to hang onto it to use as a plow truck for our driveway when our existing trucks had served their function. At the time we were still using our 1979 grand wagoneer to plow with and my Mom's higher mileage 1986 grand wagoneer was then next in line to be the plow truck for our 1/4mile long driveway. This Blazer was then slated to be the plow truck after that 1986 Grand Wagoneer was "finished". The Blazer got some occasional use now and then, but as you can see by the 20k in just under 20 years, it has primarily stayed in the garage (Dad has 5 garage bays). This truck got the brand new blizzard plow on it about 5 years ago when my mom passed. Dad used it that year, but we then had him buy a home near my sister due to his age. He just turned 96 this past September 3rd. That may make you wonder about buying the truck from a co-worker just 18 years ago. He actually worked full time until he was 82!!! Not what I plan to do! In any case, the truck is in great condition. The truck is in Thomaston CT, I am in Alabama, and my Dad and Sister are in South Windsor CT. My sister is asking me to take care of this one. The house in Thomaston is being sold finally (actually given away is my real feeling) so the truck has to go since there is no place to keep it. I would love to just bring it down here to Alabama where it will certainly last a whole lot longer but I don't have the room for it either and can't just park it in the planned community I live in. I am planning a trip up there to CT the weekend of the 20th of October. I would like to do the transaction in person then. For that reason I also cannot handle any kind of shipping. If that is your plan, you will have to make 100% of those arrangements yourself. Call with any questions, but please, serious inquiries only as we are really dealing with enough right now with the selling of the house etc. Les (570) 527-5590. Mechanically the truck is 100% to the best of my knowledge. It was put away with zero problems and I expect it to still be that way. The photos shown here were some that I took a year ago. The truck sat for years and started right up. The gas is older, but I did pour some fresh ethanol free gas with stabil in it. Luckily the fuel in there was ethanol free gas so it was fine and should still be fine. If it was this new ethanol garbage I am sure things would be different. In any case, I pulled it out of the garage let it run for a while and put it back in the garage. One thing to also add. The interior is of course also all original and in great shape. I always used to make fun of those beads my dad would put on the seat. He put them in every car he drove. He said they were comfortable???? What they did do though is protect the seats.
