Vehicle Detail

1969 FERRARI 365 GT 2+2 CALIFORNIA CONVERSION This beautiful Ferrari convertible is one of only about 4 or 5 365 GT 2+2’s that have been converted to resemble the extremely rare Ferrari California (convertible). Note the added aluminum hood bulge, dino type air intake openings, and revised rear section. I have owned this car for about 3 years; having purchased it after the 2009 RM Auction in Ft. Lauderdale. I have very little history on this car, previous owner was a Pompano Beach classic dealer. I stated a mileage but the mileage is unknown. The body work, paint, and interior are nicely done; correct ansa exhaust system, new windshield; no tools or pouch. Over the last year I have done the following: ENGINE- adjusted cam timing, valve adjustment, replaced all 24 valve adjusting screws, new wires, plugs, ignition parts, coils, rebuilt webers, fuel pumps, filters, and all hoses. BODY- 2 borranis rebuilt with stainless spokes by Cork Adams; other wheels are nice with SS spokes. 4 new Michelin tires (215/70/R15). Both gas tanks have been removed, cleaned, and new gas lines installed. This great car has the typical 2+2 options: power steering, power brakes, electric windows, 5 speed trans., independent suspension, tube frame, and air conditioning. The normally troublesome (and very expensive to repair) self-leveling rear suspension has been replaced with 4 shock coils; with adjustable height. Car runs and handles beautifully. No smoke. Conversion appears to have been done well with the convertible top being of top notch quality and fit. The vin # is 12959 and is displayed on the steering column, engine, and frame. I have a clear Hawaii title. The original vin plate is missing and has been replaced with an assigned Florida vin plate with the number: FLA12959FE. Florida DMV told me the assigned vin # was due to the car being converted to a convertible; not sure if this is true but I have a new Ferrari vin plate with the ‘12959’ number that goes with the car. The only mechanical issue the car has is for the gear lever to get stuck in 1st gear when the car is parked. I posted this issue on Ferrari Chat a while ago but have not pursued the repair or adjustment. Leaks a little oil. I have the correct Veglia clock to replace the incorrect clock on the dash as well as a new toggle switch to replace the incorrect switch on the console.
