CONDITION The Triumph Trophy is in exceptionally good condition from front to back, and has less than a handful of truly minor cosmetic flaws from being ridden and enjoyed to keep it from being in museum quality. It has not been formally detailed, so it will show some dirt, grime, and light oxidation, as it has been ridden about 4,100 miles since the complete restoration in 2010. I have provided 50 very large, detailed photographs below to show you every possible nook and cranny on the bike. PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO REVIEW THEM, and look at the exceptional condition this machine is in. The bike was purchased in early 2009 as a running and riding original condition bike that had its share of scuffs and marks from 20,000 miles of Florida riding. After being ridden and enjoyed for about 6 months, it was decided that the bike would be completely stripped down, and a full restoration would be done to make it like new again. Over an 8 month period, the bike was meticulously cleaned, gone over, parts replaced, items rebuilt, and the odometer reset to zero to start again as the restored and beautiful machine you see in the photos below. The bike was completed in the Summer of 2010, and has been ridden just over 4,100 miles in the past two years. It has also been shown at over a dozen local and regional bike shows, where it has almost always managed an award for BEST BRIT BIKE. It has been kept in a climate and humidity controlled warehouse when not being used, and even though it is dirty in the photos below, you can see that it is only a simple detailing away from looking practically brand new once again. The sheetmetal is finished in Sterling Silver and black with red striping in between, and it is glossy, slick, and stunning from the tank to the fenders. A few very tiny marks from normal riding are evident is you are within a nose length of the finish, but as you can see in the 70 extra large detailed photos below, NOTHING that is remotely an issue. The biggest mark is a small stone chip on the back left of the front fender that has been touched up with correct black paint. I have detailed it closely in the 70 large photos below. All of the tins on the bike are in excellent condition, with no dents, bends, or damage. The frame is in exceptional condition, and is shown in gloss black that looks like new from every angle. Hardly a mark on it, and it shines beautifully even though it has not even been professionally detailed yet! The side covers on the bike are black, and the paint shows light wear from being rubbed on by the inside of a rider's thighs, and the TIGER 650 decals are a bit worn down, but otherwise in good condition. The bike is loaded with chrome extras, and they are all in fantastic condition as you can see from the 70 photos below. CHROME MIRRORCHROME HAGON SHOCKSCHROME FRONT AND REAR RIMSCHROME PASSENGER GRAB BAR WITH REFLECTORSCHROME HEADLAMP WITH AMP METER BUILT INCHROME BREATHERCHROME HANDLEBARSCHROME RISER ARMSCHROME FUEL CAPCHROME CLUTCH LEVERCHROME BRAKE LEVERAll of the chrome looks great, and has only light oxidation, if anything, apparent. It should all clean up as good as new with some elbow grease and your favorite chrome polish! The chrome fork nut has some flaking on it from a wrench being used during maintenance, as do the chrome rear axle nuts. These can both be replaced with new units for less than $20.00. Aluminum spokes mate the chrome rim to the drum brake hubs front and rear, and the wheels all look to be in exceptional condition. Brakes are correctly adjusted, and bring the bike down from speed without fade, wander, wobble, or issue. Front fork lowers are polished aluminum, and have light oxidation that aluminum gets. I have cleaned on a small portion on the inside of one of the legs with Mothers Polish, and it will polish out, and could look as good as new again. Wheels were all respoked and brakes completely rebuilt when the bike was restored just 4,100 miles ago. Tires are AVON AM20 100/90H19 upfront, and AVON RoadRunner 110/90-18 in the rear. They are damage free, and show normal wear for 4,100 miles. They probably have over 60% of the useable tread life remaining. The rubber grips, pegs, passenger pegs, kick arm pedal, and center stand peg are all in good condition. The rubber shift peg cover has a cut in it on the underside from being ridden, but is still intact and functional. The Triumph seat is in great condition, and shows no abnormal wear and tear of any kind. The Triumph logo is still clearly visible on the rear, and it is remarkably comfortable when riding the bike. The turn signals in the front and rear were left off by choice when the restoration was done for a cleaner look. Unfortunately, over the past two years, they have been misplaced, and will not come with the bike. NOS units are available for a minimal cost should you elect to install them at a later date. The engine on the bike is the original, correct, and numbers matching unit the bike was born with, and it was completely torn down and rebuilt about 4,100 miles ago by the legendary REKO'S BRITHISH MOTORCYCLE REPAIR in Sarasota, FL. They have been in business for over 40 years, and are THE PLACE to take your Brit Bike for repairs, rebuilding, tuning, and general Amal carb issues! The cases show typical aluminum light oxidation, and can clean up well with some elbow grease and polish. The motor itself was completely redone. "Did they change...." YES. "What about the...." YES. "Did they put new..." YES."So what you're saying is that it was completely redone from gaskets to machining to internals to everything inside the cases?" YESThis bike is a one kick wonder, and even if you leave it sit for three weeks, all you need to do is tickle the carb a little, twist the throttle a couple time, and jump on that kicker arm to bring it to life! I have had the pleasure of riding this bike about 45 miles, and it is an absolute joy! Handling is spot on, it tracks laser straight with no wander or pulling, and it stops on a dime without any of that funny business usually associated with drum brakes. Power is smooth and on demand, and the bike does not burble or flat spot anywhere along the powerband. The AMAL carb was tuned to perfection by REKO's, and if you know them, you know it is a specialty of the shops! Tach, speedo, and Amp meter all appear to be functional. Odometer was reset in 2010 to zero, and now shows 4,100 and change on it's functional dial. The title shows actual mileage at 20,000 in 2009, but the new owner wanted it to reflect the mileage since restored, so it was reset. The individual downswept exhaust system is in great condition, and shows only normal bluing in spots. The NOS megaphone style silencers are in exceptional condition, and sound great on the bike. This particular TIGER is equipped with the 5-speed transmission rather than the 4-speed. From what I can tell, this is an extremely rare factory option, offering the bike as a designation of TR6RV, which it is. According to Woolridge, only 2,047 of these TR6RV 5-speed bikes were produced in 1972, making it one of the rarest examples of a Triumph Tiger available. The transmission shifts perfectly in each gear up or down, and clutch action is spot on, with smooth pull and release. The bike was inspected by our technician and found to be in exceptional operating order.
