Vehicle Detail

I am the second owner of this fine old Ford. The original owner was living in Las Vegas when she passed away about 18 years ago and her daughter used the car very little and put it in storage. The original owner spent several thousand dollars on having the original engine rebuilt. This was done shortly before her passing and the car was driven about 10k miles since. The heads were hard seated, the block is the original as are the heads. It has been bored 030 and all the normal rebuild items done. New hoses clutch, plug wires etc. I have confirmed this with the shop in LV. I have the paper work. I have owned the car for the last 6 years and have done numerous things to the car. I am a retired professional mechanic. The seats, carpets, and headliner were redone nicely and close to the original. The door panels are original. The padded dash was shot and has been removed and the dash painted. The original paint is poor but the car still looks pretty classy. It has some minor cancer in both dog legs. The left rear floor section was replaced due due years of a leaking door seal. This was expertly done with an original Ford part. I had the exhaust replaced from the head pipes back. It has duals with center mounted glass packs and sounds nice. Cars runs and drives good but can use some tlc. The overdrive works but free wheels when kicked down. The carb was rebuilt but acts a little lean when just cruising. The clutch was replaced when the engine was done. The brakes are good but not new other than the master cyl. The belts and hoses are all good. This car can be driven across the country just fine. The tires are 15 inch and are all in the 75% range and probably 7 or 8 years old. The glass is all good with new windshield and back glass seals. A new trunk seal is included but not installed. The body is nice with only a dented rocker Most of its length. Very fixable dent. The chrome is all decent with a new hood edge trim. The rear bumper has a dent/bend but is not rusted out as most are. I retrieved some misc parts from a wrecking yard car just because. A heater, front door window and other bits. As far as I know everything works. The car has been stored for the last year but started frequently. The car is in Portland, Oregon. The title is in my name in Washington state. I have a lot of pictures but am haveing down load problems. More to come later I will answer all questions. 509 220 1458 On Sep-21-12 at 08:27:09 PDT, seller added the following information: This is a 300 horse 4 barrel 390. It has the original autolite carb. The transmission is the original Borg-Warner T85 heavy duty column shift. The front bearing was replaced recently because of noise. The shift works great and is not all sloppy. The car has power steering and non-power brakes. The generator was rebuilt 2 years ago and works as it should. The headliner is white in color as was the original. The material is correct. Included are extra trim pieces to replace the dented trunk trim. Also there is a pushed in dent area below the deck lid that will be an easy fix.and is barely noticeable. The steering wheel was replaced with a correct crack free one I bought for $125. It was repainted black from blue using real car paint not spray canned. The rear end is the original and I believe is a 3.50 but not sure. I need to confirm the mileage reading. I think the reading shown on this listing is from my 62 Ford and not this 64. I think it is actually about 125K. I will list it when I go to the storage facility. The rims are "Moderns" number 50 from Les Schwab and are pretty decent but not perfect. 8 inch on rear 7 inch on front. I do not have the original hub caps but may have some 14" rims for it. Please ask any questions now. Okay to call Dennis 509 220 1458 On Sep-26-12 at 07:42:09 PDT, seller added the following information: The engine should be black with gold. It was painted blue when it was rebuilt. The engine bay needs detailed but everything is nice and unmolested. The wiring is very good etc. This is not a beat up old clunker. It is a nice driving car. The doors and windows all work very well. As stated it does need some TLC. Mainly cleaning and detailing to be a nice survivor. No it is not a "restored" car. I have more pictures but none of the inside of the trunk. The floor is solid but the mat is poor. Ask your questions now not after close of auction.
