Vehicle Detail

I am listing a 1952 M38 CDN 1/4 Ton 4X4 Utility Truck manufactured by Willy's Overland and one of 2,135 assembled by Ford Motor Company of Canada in Windsor, Ontario on November 19, 1952. Serial # F101669, CFR # 52-31682 stamped on top left frame rail. Ordinance Code # 2230, Contract # E-20LV7742 Army. 134 ci, L-Head 4 cylinder 60 hp " Go Devil " gasoline engine, 45-50 mph cruising speed, turning radius 20ft. ground clearance 9.25 inches, Warner T-90 transmission, Spicer transfer case, drive shaft and universals. Auto-Lite Distributor, Generator, Starter and Voltage Regulator. It is equipped with the original 24 volt system, a fire extinguisher and convoy lights. It has the original top and side curtains and includes 2 doors. The rear spring shackles are the reinforced type. This Jeep has had a complete restoration in 1985 as a US Army vehicle with field markings for the Korean War operations as it was when it served in Korea. After the Korean War it was returned to the US before being sold and returning to Canada. It is completely documented from the time it was sold by the Army to today with all owners and mileage statements. It has a clear PA title stating the mileage as actual. It now shows 47,000. I have receipts for a complete engine rebuild 500 miles ago. The engine was sleeved to a standard bore, balanced, .020 under crank with a new clutch, plug wires, water pump, head, bearings and etc. The brakes are also rebuilt. He has receipts for $6000 in parts and labor. The vehicle was restored as it would be found in an US Army motor pool during the Korean conflict. It does not have a glossy perfect paint job nor is it cosmetically perfect in every way, however it is brought back to be as authentic as possible and run as dependable as it would in the 1950's when it was deployed. Transportation to the buyers location is the responsibility of the buyer. Please ask any questions you have before you bid as your bid is a contract to purchase. A $500.00 deposit is required within 2 days of the auctions end. The deposit can be made via paypal. The remainder is due within 7 days of the auctions end. Payment may be made by cash in person or certified funds. You are welcome and encouraged to have an independent inspector to look at the jeep before you bid.
