Vehicle Detail
Up for NO RESERVE auction is my 1965 Dodge Dart! I hate to part with it but I have to free up the storage space. I have owned it the past 10 years and a few years ago made many upgrades/repairs. This is a great entry level classic for those of you, like me, who dont have 50k to drop on that 6 pack Cuda. It has the 170 slant six with 4 on the floor, originally a 3 speed column shift car. The 170 is a great engine to upgrade/turbo and this one runs excellent, the a-833 shifts beautifully as well. Converted to disc brakes! Instead of rambling on, I am going to list the good and not so good in two different columns: The Good: Front disc brake assembly off of a 65 Cuda with new rotors and rebuilt calipers (almost 0 miles on them since installed!)All new brake lines and hoses, new disc brake master cylinder, new rear brake shoes and hardware!A-833 4speed!KYB shocks all around with rebuilt front end!New rear leaf springs and shackles! New front sway bar assembly!Classic American racing mags! (not shown are 4 new center caps still in the box!)BF Goodrich T/As on all 4 wheels have under 100 miles! New muffler and glasspack exhaust, sounds nice for a 6!Pertronix Ignitor 2 electronic ignition!Weber 2 barrel carb!Paint still looks beautiful! (Painted in 1995)Non original interior looks real nice! (Door panels are from Legendary)All chrome and trim in close to excellent condition!Car starts, runs and drives! Ok, now for the not so good: Paint has rust bubbles at the bottom of the rockers, doors, quarters, and trunk lid. Car has some bondo repairs (nothing too bad though) Passenger side quarter panel was patched in 1995 and the repair is coming apart. Rear passenger side floorboard had a small hole that was repaired with fiberglass (holding up well, pictured- rest of floors solid) Trunk solid except for hole behind drivers side wheelwell (pictured) Headliner has some holes and ripped seams.Fuel gauge not working. Speedometer works but make whirring noise when driving. Drivers side armrest missing. Car was originally set up to run on propane, the system didn't work, so I removed it. The only thing left are the two tank straps in the trunk (pictured) The rear main seal on the engine leaks oil when the car is running (drip) I hope I havent forgtten anything, overall the car is in nice shape for its age and will be a fun driver. All proceeds from this auction will go towards repairing my 63 Valiant convertible :)Please reach out to me with any questions before bidding, vehicle is being sold as is with no warranty. Car was last registered by me in NY. New York State does not issue titles for vehicles manufactured before 1972. Car will be sold with a bill of sale. The Dart is being stored just north of Mystic Connecticut, two hours from where I live. I will be available this Sunday for everyone who wants to see the car in person. Please message me with your contact info, phone number, and the time you would like to see it and I will send you the address. Good luck and happy bidding! On Sep-23-12 at 13:30:09 PDT, seller added the following information: Added 9/23/12: Hi everyone! If the bidding exceeds $3500, I will throw in a fully rebuilt 1973 360 small block with a mild cam, Torker 340 intake, and brand new MP valve covers with a 4 speed small block bell housing! This will get you on your way to that V8 swap if desired. The 360 was rebuilt about 12 years ago for another project I had which I never used. The 360 and bell housing is located in Danbury, CT, the winner will have to pick it up from there. I have added pictures of the 360 which is how you will get it, no carb, accessories, or flywheel...Thanks and happy bidding!
