Vehicle Detail

This is a very nice 1985 Chevrolet Silverado pickup. I am listing it for my son as a new baby has forced him to purchase a more suitable family vehicle. It is black with a black and grey interior. I am not a mechanic or body man, but I can honestly say that this truck could be a real head turner with a little time and money. The odometer reads 83000 plus, but I cannot verify that as actual miles. According to the previous owner, the engine was replaced when the odometer was around 64000. It also had new dual exhaust and tires replaced at that time. Previous owner started restoration by replacing the cab corners and rocker panels along with a pretty decent paint job. It is not perfect, but it would not take a whole lot to finish it up. There is no rust and the paint is very good and shiny . It has a very small area on the underneath side of the passenger rocker panel that looks to be"bubbling ", ( See the 6th picture). It is not noticeable unless you get underneath of it. It does need to have the dash pad replaced as it has several cracks and is pulling away at the bottom where it meets the windshield. The interior is in very good shape with 2 very small holes in the drivers side of the seat. The door panels are good except for the handle to pull the door shut on the drivers side and the housing that goes behind the door handle is missing. The door opens fine. The passenger door will not open from the inside. Not sure why, but it is probably an easy fix.It opens fine from the outside. The power door locks work good. The passenger side power window will not operate from the drivers side switch. It works fine from the passenger side.Headliner is good. Carpet could use a good cleaning but is free of any rips or tears.. The stereo is a Kenwood that sounds great, but could use a little better installation job. All glass is good and free of cracks or pits.Has sliding window on the rear.Mechanically it needs very little. Air conditioner does not blow cold and either has a leak or needs free-on. It has not been converted. The fan and heater work fine. The battery was replaced 6 months ago. It has a slight exhaust leak and pops a little when you let your foot off of the accelerator. It does not smoke and the plugs have just been replaced. The suspension is good and it cruises at 70 MPH with no shaking or pulling. Brakes seem to been fine also. Tires are probably around 75% and have lots of miles left on them. It does have a very minor transmission fluid leak where the speedometer cable screws into the transmission. It does not use oil but you may need to replace the valve cover gaskets before long . If you are looking for a great old classic truck as a daily driver or looking to spend a little to make a show truck, I assure you, you will not be disappointed. Bidding begins at 3200.00 with NO RESERVE. It is for sale locally, and I reserve the right to end the auction if a buyer comes along. It is located in Kansas City, Kansas and welcome you to come and take a look and test drive before bidding. Please email with questions. I will forward them to my son. Thanks and GOOD LUCK!!!
