On February 7th, 1963, Walter Hinton walked into Community Chevrolet in Burbank, California and bought a new Nova Super Sport. The car he bought was an Adobe Beige, with Fawn interior Super Sport with several options. The Nova came with the basic Super Sport package, power steering, front grill guard, rear antenna, and the dealer installed tissue dispenser. Mr. Hinton drove the car until the mid 1990s when he sold the car locally. The next owner painted the car in its original color and passed it on to the next owner in 2000. This owner basically parked it in his garage until I bought it several weeks ago. It is still wearing its original California black license plates from 1963 with the original Community Chevrolet license surround. The car shows 38,000 miles and although I have no proof, I think the miles could possibly be original. This is the most rust free, original California Nova Super Sport I have ever come across. I have a receipt from 1993 when the transmission was rebuilt and the odometer reading was 34,000 miles. This car definitely drives, feels and looks like a low mile car and the underside is amazing. Look at the pictures of the underside of this car, it has absolutely no undercoating and it is mostly red oxide primer still on the floors! I have had over 100 old Novas and this is by far the best one underneath that I have ever seen. It still has both T 3 headlights and the original Trico wiper arms! The color combo is rare and very striking in person. When I first heard of the car and learned of the color combo, I was disappointed, however when I saw it, I instantly loved it. The paint is very nice on the car with the exception of a few scuffs and scratches on the top where the previous owner piled things on top of it in his garage. Cars like this are getting very difficult to find. A real deal black plate Super Sport with factory documentation and the most rust free body you will ever find is almost an impossibility anymore. Looking for a nice original 1965 Nova Super Sport and a nice original Nova Station Wagon. What do you have? Finders fees gladly paid. I have set a very realistic reserve on this car.
