Vehicle Detail

1959 Mercedes 220s european model with a Webasto top. This car was owned by the second owner, a German mechanic in Salt Lake City, Utah for the past 30 years. He kept the car in great mechanical condition. I bought the car from him two years ago and had it painted as it had the original paint and had never been repainted. It was oxidized and peeling in a few spots. It has a little over 74,000 miles on the original motor and drivetrain. This car is a refurbished driver and many components have not been completely restored to show quality, but many have. The bumpers and door handles have been rechromed and are like new but the side mouldings have not been replaced or rechromed and they have a few minor dents and scratches. The paint is very nice on a virtually rust free car, but it is a couple of years old and has a few minor flaws. The paint and interior have been redone in their original colors. The interior is done in German materials and is very nice, German square weave carpet, canvas top, seat and door panel material very close to the original. This car has the turn signal mechanism in the horn ring and being a European model it has the autobahn flasher where the turn signal normally is. This car runs great, shifts smoothly with a manual four speed on the column. All of the brake cylinders and master cylinder have been rebuilt and the brakes work great. New tires and battery. I will pick up and drop off at the Salt Lake International Airport anyone wishing to inspect the car. These cars are extremely undervalued, considering what it takes to restore one, but they are begining to rise in value and are currently a great investment. This one is a great survivor and fun to drive.
