A few years ago, my friends Tom and Chrissy bought this 1981 Spider in Texas and drove it home to Virginia to be their second Alfa. Then they had a couple of kids and trimmed their fleet. I spotted the car for sale last Thanksgiving, recognized it and bought it. I knew the car was a solid low-mileage one. I took some time over the winter to go over the car, then had my favorite body shop paint it in its original Alfa red. While I was doing this, pictures of the car appeared in the Alfa Owner magazine. This Spider is mainly stock for a 1981 Alfa, but its Spica fuel injection was long ago replaced with dual Dell'Orto carburetors. The car has fresh tires and a very good vinyl roof. The seats are comfortable but as shown there are split seams. Carpets are not bad. All in all it's a good interior for a 32 year-old car. And the outside is freshly painted, not perfect but good enough to turn heads. There is no visible rust, though there are a few small bubbles just starting behind the driver's tire. WIth only 60,000 miles, this car has tons of good life left in it. I had a bunch of work done last winter to ensure that it is in good shape. Brakes, transmission, engine and carbs were all serviced last winter. The car starts and runs well and it's fun to drive. I'm listing it with no reserve because this car is good enough to sell itself and I am confident it will find its next good home this way! Please give a shout if you have any questions.
