For sale is a 1967 Ford (Galaxie Style) 9 seater Ranch Wagon. I bought this from an Ebayer that oversold what this car is, and as a result, it is too much of a project for me personally. That having been said, for someone who actually can work on a car as opposed to having the work done, this vehicle has some good qualities, but also some flaws. I have the original paper work for the dealership when purchased new... lots of service records exist and it looks as though the car was properly maintained by this papertrail. The car had been in storage and not been driven for about 20 years. The vehicle is all original and hasn't been driven since the previous owner parked the vehicle in the early 90s. It has 98,000 miles, air conditioning, and rear jump seats. The vehicle is, for the most part, a solid car. Doors open and close perfectly... no sag. Body is virtually rust free, however, the rear quarter panels will need work as they are rusty (see photos). Also, there is rust through on the frame at the front of the car (see photos)... but it is localized and repairable with someone who can weld. The interior is pretty nice! Dash is good with a single split. The back of the front seat is perfect, but there is a large split in the seat. The back seat is perfect. The headliner is perfect. The door panels are perfect, with the exception of small ripples in the lower, driver door, and the door handle of the passenger door. It will need new carpet (about $180 at JC Whitney). The paint is faded and rough... so it will definitely need paint if you want to restore it. There was no gas cap and it appeared there was a rodent nest built in the opening. When I bought it, it wasn't running, there was no battery in it and some hoses were disconnected. I had a battery put in and found that the horn, wipers, heater/air condition fan and blinkers work. There seems to be a bulb out in one blinker light. The headlights do not go on... could be bulbs, but I have not checked. To lift the 2 jump seats in the back, you have to lower the rear window (which is a power window). This window will not work... so I have no idea the condition of the rear seats, or how well the rear tailgate works. I had my mechanic put minimal work into the car so I could sell it with a good conscience (I don't want to oversell it like the guy I bought it from). He put in points, condenser, new coil and a new battery. He worked on it a bit and got it running. He put gas in the tank to see if it would run from the tank, but the gas tank was leaking, so he stopped. Even though there are flaws, to someone who can do the work themselves, they are not extreme. The body and most of the frame is solid. The interior has it's flaws, but they are minor. My plans were to get this thing running and painted, put some 18" Cragar wheels on it, put on a loud exhaust, strap a surfboard on the roof and drive it to the beach (it is an air conditioned car!). However, when I bought the car, it was called "a good daily driver and a good start to a restoration".... and "NO RUST except for the rear quarter panels. And since I do not work on cars, I would have to pay for the repairs of all of the flaws that were not listed. It's too much of a project for me... but would make an awesome surf wagon when done! The vehicle is currently at a garage in Lowell, MA... near my summer home. I am back in Florida now... so it will have to be seen and/or picked up in Lowell, MA.
