This 1972 MG Midget is the most popular Midget with the round rear wheel opening. This MG has been restored during the past three years and has less than 100 miles on it The vehicle was stripped except suspension which was inspected and no repairs required. All sheet metal repairs were made with sheet metal, not Bondo. Yhe vehicle has been garaged always during restoration. The following was restored: Undercoating- The entire interior and undercarriage and engine well. Engine- the engine was disassembled and measurements taken. All measurements were to specifications. New bearings along with rings were installed, new timing chain and gears , valve springs, valves and seals were installed. All seals and gaskets were replaced. Body- All sheet metal was stripped to bare metal, any rusted parts were replaced with metal. Bondo only used sparely. This is not a “Bondo Queen”. All new primer and paint. Brakes- New master cylinder. Front brakes have new rotor along with rebuilt calipers. Rear brakes have new shoes/springs/fasteners. All brake lines were inspected and questionable ones replaced. Fuel System- New Weber down draft Carb and air cleaner, new fuel pump, filter and fuel tank. All new fuel line and fasteners. Electrical- Rebuilt starter and alternator. Wiring harness was remover and tape stripped and all wires and connector tested for continuity. Any problems corrected. Many light lens replacedand all rubber on light assemblies replaced. Tires- New Interior- All interior installed new except door panels. Used orginal panels in excellent condition were installed. New top installed Clutch- New disc, pressure plate and through out bearing. New Master cylinder along with slave cylinder.. New hydraulic line installed and rerouted to eliminate clutch bleeding problem. There were many other small parts which were rebuilt or replaced, too many to list.
