Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1987 Porsche 924S. I would say this car is in overall good condition, it has rock chips and dings in the paint and the interior is worn in the typical areas. It runs good and is reliable. Everything works with the exception of the sunroof which just stopped working recently. The timing belt, balance shaft belt, water pump, radiator and all cooling hoses were replaced at 122,000 miles. Spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor were replaced at 127,000. The wheels are from a '95 Boxster and are in very good condition, the front tires have about 90% tread remaining and the rears need to be replaced. Q&A from the last auction. Question & Answer Answered On Q: Can you describe the drivetrain slack? Specifically, when do you notice it and what does it do exactly? Thanks. Aug-29-12 A: It's most noticeable when you are driving a steady speed and let off the accelerator abruptly and reapply it, you can feel a bump somewhere in the drivetrain, could be cv joints or possibly the clutch, but the clutch does not slip and there are not any whining noises coming from the transmission or rearend so I have just been driving it that way. Once you get used to the way the clutch engages it's not a problem, If you were to ride with me you would not know it's there. Hope this helps, thanks. Q: Do you know if the transmission has been rebuilt ie / clutch & pressure plate ect ? Thanks, michael Aug-26-12 A: As far as I know the transmission has never been rebuilt, and the clutch has not been replaced. The clutch engages fairly high on the pedal but does not slip and the tras shifts smooth though all gears. There is some "slack in the drivetrain" but I don't know the cause, it's been that way since I first bought it and hasn't been a problem. Please don't bid if you have no intention of paying. I have set the reserve at $1000.00. Buyer is responsible for arranging shipping or pickup.
