1964 Ford Galaxie 500XL Dual Quad Z Code 390 100% Rust Free!! You are viewing an absolutely beautiful 64' Ford Galaxie 500XL. The car has been restored to a high level. Original Z code 390 dressed as an R code, 4 Speed, Black on black. The car runs beatifully and mechanically sorted, starts with a click of the key and settles into a nice idle. Everything functions properly. I will attempt to describe the car below, but am sure I will forget alot, so please ask all questions before auctions end. Body: 100% rust free no hit body was media blasted to bare steel, no rust repair needed. All chrome removed and polished. All glass and interior removed. The body was taken off the frame and new body bushings installed. The body was blocked many times until it was lazer straight and then refinished in its A code gorgeous Raven Black base clear, then she recieved a cut and polish. This car is slick! The car was painstakenly reassembled with all new hardware. New bumpers, mirrors, emblems,etc.. The chrome is awsome. Glass has been polished, but the rear glass has some imperfections. All new Soft seal weatherstrip. Driveline: The original 390 recieved a total rebuild with 427 internals to R code specs and topped off with a Fomoco dual quad setup with 2 new Holley 600 carbs, has Ford 406 shorty cast iron headers that exit to a new costom 2 1/2" exhaust with flowmasters ( car sounds awsome and has a nice lope), all accessories were rebuilt and refinished. The T10 4 speed was completely rebuilt and put in with a new Hurst competition shifter and a heavy duty clutch. The original 9" was redone with all new heavt duty axles, races, bearings, seals, new 373 gears and a brand new Detroit Locker unit. This car is scary fast!! Interior: The interior is nearly all new including headliner, dash, seat covers & foam, arm rests, carpet, seat belts etc.. the original door panels were restored and look great. Dash was repainted, guages all polished. The pics tell the story, she looks new. Suspension: The original front drums were upgraded to a new power disc brake setup. A new master suspension rebuild kit installed. Still needs aligned. New Ridler wheels, staggered 15X8.5 back & 15X7 up front, 275 60 15 BFG T/A radials rear & 225 70 15 in front. The stance is very agressive looking. Just to recap, the car was professionally restored (and not cheaply). If you are looking for a top notch 64, you would be hard pressed to find one cleaner, that has never been rusted, then you need to consider this car.
