Vehicle Detail

This was a nice little project I built two years ago. It was my daily commuter for a while. The previous owner painted it to match the original Grabber Green color and it is pretty close. I painted the firewall and tried to match his color. This is a California car built right here in Milpitas. (San Jose) The car has disc brakes and the trim package with the rear side windows that open. It had a roof rack originally and it does come with the car. Black graphics are simple decals I bought on E-bay. I removed the tired 2000cc engine and replaced it with a low mileage 2300cc motor from a 1980 wagon. The T-5 tranny from an 88 Mustang bolted right up. The rear end is stock and the gearing is perfect. I basically stripped the motor down to the block and replaced just about everything. The carb was rebuilt and the entire exhaust system was replaced. Wheels and tires are four lug 15". Tires are in nice condition but the wheels do have some curb rash. New parts are too many to list but include; flywheel, clutch, belt, hoses, alternator, water pump, coil, solenoid, starter, gauges, Hurst shifter handle and knob, stereo and speakers. The leather seats are out of a 96 Mustang and are decent. This car is over 40 years old and needs a few touches to make it more comfortable. It needs a headliner and some seals around the windows. The paint is showing some wear in some corners and at the left rear quarter panel where there may have been some body filler? The front bumper looks great but the rear is showing some pitting. This is not a show car trophy winner by any means. I have had this in a few shows and it gets a lot of attention every time! It seems as if everybody has a Pinto story. In a row of 57 Chevys this car stands out among the ordinary! Please E-mail me with any questions and feel free to call. The car is located in the San Francisco bay area and I will be available to show it in the afternoons. Because the car is for sale locally, I reserve the right to end the auction early. Thanks for looking ! (408) 505-3643 On Aug-23-12 at 20:07:46 PDT, seller added the following information: The header pipe touches the bellhousing so there is a slight exhaust leak. The local muffler shop recommends a copper gasket which may solve the problem. After having the carb rebuilt I chose not to reinstall the choke in order to clear the aircleaner. Car needs some cranking to start after sitting a few days. I purchased a mechanical choke that goes with the car. I have an extra set of graphics that are still in the original package that I'll throw in also. There is also only one sun visor. The good news is that it happens to be the drivers' side and it is autographed by Jack Roush!
