Vehicle Detail
This is a 1965 F250 Custom Cab, yes it has a 1966 grille. Had this shipped in from the Pacific Northwest (Tacoma Washington) a few months ago. What sold me on this truck was the rust free body, with the exception of a small spot on the hood, the two family ownership, and the 92,000 original miles. I want to be as descriptive as possible so I will give you the good, the bad and the ugly. My plan was to set this up as a dependable daily driver keeping as much of the original patina intact as I could for now and paint later. The former owner had a brand new set of headers and a full length dual system installed with Flowmaster 40s. The tires were also replaced before the sale. Once I got the truck here, I completely went through the brake system, master cylinder, all wheel cylinders, all hoses, shoes etc were replaced and system was converted to DOT5 silicone brake fluid. I had the 2V carb professionally rebuilt, new Petronix coil and electronic ignition, wires and plugs installed, new belts, hoses etc. Pretty much anything that would leave one by the side of the road. Windshield was cracked so I had it replaced also. Manual steering, manual brakes, runs down the road really well, tracks straight, no wander or free play in the steering. It is obvious that this truck was used during its lifetime but also maintained. Is driven everyday with no issues. Class III frame hitch, sliding rear window, rear mount in bed spare carrier (under frame also) Body is incredibly clean, solid in the cab mount, floor pan, bottoms of doors, cab corners, all the places these things rust out at, this is solid. Surface rust on the floor pans under the mats. Bed and tailgate has surface rust only. This is a great base for restoration or just drive as is. Paint has plenty of scratches, a bunch in the bed area. Drivers fender has a rub type dent in the front. Hood as stated has rust hole about 4 inches long, hinge area tired. Good tread on tires, mismatch front to rear, but all same size and great condition with plenty of tread. Steel 16" wheels with 65 F100 caps with 15" to 16" adaptor rings. Interior original with the required saddle blanket cover. Original seat cover worn/torn on drivers side. Headliner gone. Has lap belts and the shouder harnesses attached to the B pillar. What it needs: Valve seals, on long decel with the clutch engaged it will blow a puff of oil on accel again. If you just disengage the clutch during decel no smoke. Not a big deal, but should be known. Slight clutch shudder on engagement. No slipping at all, 4th gear at 30MPH full throttle, just keeps on pulling. Needs valve cover gaskets, have them and will include also. Needs door seals, and will be included in the sale. The truck is listed locally so I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. Why am I selling? Bought a 65 F250 4x4. Can't keep em all! This truck is a great daily driver or a great restoration candidate. I have tried to be as descriptive as possible and please contact me on 734-735-2086 with any questions, $250 deposit within 48 hours of end of auction, (PayPal fine) Pick up only and I can help load.
