Vehicle Detail

WOW! A RARE BREED THEY ONLY PRODUCED 1233 OF THESE CARS. LESS THAN 200 OF THEM REPORTED TO BE REGISTERED. 1970 MERCURY MARQUIS CONVERTIBLE 429 engine production numbers go here. (http://www.mercurystuff.com/1970-models/index.html) Great investment since they do not make Mercury any more. It has Washington state Classic plates. Engine has less than 800 mi. ford 429 .030 over, new cam, completely rebuilt dove heads, new pistons, rings, rods, bearings, water pump, oil pump, oil pick up tube. New Pertronix ignition, new vacuum advance, new heater core, new 3 core radiator, new freeze plugs, new oil pan, valve covers, spark plug wires, spark plugs, 675 CFM Street Avenger Holley Carburetor. Engine and heads were hot tanked and bead blasted. New crank. I went completely through this motor.I have the A/C system I just did not install it. It runs great. Not ultra high performance. I gave it a little get up and go. It has a Rebuilt C6 trans with a shift kit, all new seals. It has 273 rear end gears so it's a cruiser. Its a land yacht. SMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTH ! I installed a Kenwood deck with blue tooth, remote, I pod, Kicker and infinity speakers up front and a pair of Premier 10" woofers in the trunk with 700 watts powered by 2 Thunder MtX amplifiers. Enough power so you can here good with the top down. The stock radio is in the dash just like stock. Odometer has 79,600 mi on it and its pretty much original except engine, transmission. It has 8 way electric seat, electric windows, hydraulic top and it all works. Tilt steering, vacuum trunk release. Top has no tears no rips and no leaks and it has a glass rear window. The car is in great shape. Paint and body nice but not a show car it is a driver. Overall the car is very clean. The interior has no rips or tears and is very clean and original. I did put new carpet. New 17 " tires and wheels 8" rear 7" front. New Dual Exhaust recently installed from engine back. Brakes done about 2000 mi ago. It does have front disc brakes. To the best of my knowledge I am the 3 rd owner.i have the Mercury brochure , owners manual, and warranty card. The cars limited production, and the fact that Mercury is no longer made make this car rare and collectable and it WILL go up in Value. This site gives you an idea of its worth today ( http://www.nadaguides.com/Classic-Cars/1970/Mercury/Marquis/2-Door-Convertible/Values) I believe this car is somewhere between High Retail and Average Retail.
