Vehicle Detail
This BMW is a comfortable and pleasant car to drive. When I moved from the Philadelphia area to the West coast, I left it behind to use when I was visiting. The reason that I am selling it is that it is too expensive to store properly and too difficult to keep clean and maintain properly from so far away, and I don't really need it. So, when my son informed me that the transmission was slipping and the fluid looked good, I decided to sell it rather than invest more in it. The car has a few faults: Transmission: The transmission slips, it will move car and occasionally engage... probably has worn clutches, could be electronic fault, or stuck solenoid valve??? Exterior: Three dents, all due to tree limb damage (shown in the close-up photos)... one on the left front fender, one on the right rear quarter panel, and one on the trunk lid. The left front fender had a quick temporary repair prior to the storm that caused the damage to the trunk. The two at the rear might be repairable using the “paintless dent repair” method. All of the exterior photos, with the exception of the close-ups, were taken before the dent on the trunk lid occurred. Interior: Front seats have the usual wear that you would expect given the mileage. All the power features of the seats work. The passenger seat bottom has a three inch tear (shown in one photo). The right rear carpet has a large dark spot that would be covered with the correct floor mats (the ones presently in the car are from a three series). Good Stuff: The windows are tinted all the way around. The trunk is complete and clean with a good spare and a complete tool kit, jack, wheel chock, ect. (I forgot to take a photo of the interior of the trunk) The radio, the amp (new), and the speakers all work but the wiring to the speakers behind the radio are not connected (attempted theft). the on board computer has been disabled (someone entered a new security code without writing it down!). A dealer can get around this with diagnostic tools. New Stuff: All new brake master cylinder, hydraulic pressure accumulator, hydraulic fluid, calipers, rotors, pads, wear sensors, and brake fluid. New power steering hoses. New front upper and lower control arms. New window switch module (center console). New airflow-meter boot. New trunk lid struts, and new car cover. I have invoices for most of this stuff.
