Vehicle Detail
1973 Dodge Challenger ~ Excellent Project!... This car is a project started a few years back - originally found as just the body, and included many-many boxes of parts, etc. ...after the previous owner had simply decided to take the car apart, and just leave it at that! The car has since been reassembled, (parts that came with and also the many parts acquired, since) ...but sadly, (and mainly now due to having my own business) just never seem to have found the time to continue and complete. So, finally decided about time to let the Chally go to a new home ...for another MoPaR enthusiast to now complete, and enjoy! =0) This Challenger originally came equipped from the factory with, (see fender tag decode for more detail) a 318cu 2 bbl.- coupled with a column shift Auto Trans. ...and the body was finished in Honey Gold, complimented with a White Stripe, White Vinyl Roof and Black Interior. The car is now close to 90% assembled, (less drivetrain, etc.) and rolling. Since my purchasing the Challenger, many-many more parts have been collected along the way, (see pics) which are all included in this Auction! ...and will enable the lucky winning bidder to build it, "Your Way" (for instance, 383 - 440 R/T or even T/A clone? - etc.) My original intention was to create a 440cu Street/Strip - Challenger Rallye tribute ...so there are many performance, and also many very rare Challenger Rallye parts, (see below) included! Condition... The Challenger's body is overall in very good condition, with what seems to have been replacement rear quarter panels that were installed at some point during recent past, which since that time show a small amount of the usual bubbling at the bottom in places, but should be an easy repair. This of course means there is some minor decay and filler here and there, mainly to the lower quarters, and filler where the quarters join to the roof, etc. (see pics) and also to the front Fenders from previous light damage, etc. (basically the previous filler/finishing job was not done well on the car at all!) but all panels on the car were well fitted - and should be easily reparable. It was also found that the passenger side Fender had originally came from a '70-'71 Challenger, which had been previously, "filled" so as to accommodate the '72-'74 side marker. The driver's side Fender is in what appears to be very good condition, and looks to have come from a '72-'74 Rallye Challenger - as holes for the Fender Gills are already in place. The Doors including the Trunk Lid are all in very good condition, along with fully functioning door and quarter window winders/locks, etc. The Door's Racing Mirrors are in great condition - with full working remote adjustment on the driver's side. The Challenger’s roof also appears in very good, and undamaged condition. Windows are Tinted, all in great condition - and the Windshield includes the original yellow sunshade tint to the top. The chassis overall appears to be in very good, solid condition - The only area noticed that will require some attention is on the passenger side rear ...where the chassis just begins to rise up over the rear axel, (see pic) but should be an easy welding fix. The rear shock absorbers are Air Adjustable, with a valve centrally mounted within the trunk The rest of the Challenger's under body, including the firewall and front/rear inner wheel arches also appear overall to be in good condition. The driver's side front floor pan has some decay near the main drain plug, and the driver’s rear floor pan has some small perforations near the center by the drive shaft tunnel ...But, new driver’s side front and rear floor pans previously purchased from Year One are included. Also, the Trunk floor pan will need replacement, (see pic) and again, previously purchased new Trunk floor pans from Year One are also included. The Electrical Wiring Loom both inside, under the car and also within the Challenger's engine bay is all in place - appears complete and in good condition, with connectors and switches in tact. The dash gauge cluster is missing - but these are of course often found available on eBay, etc. The original Dash pad has some cracking, but a brand new quality dash cover is included. The Headliner, Sun Visors, Door panels and center console, etc. - are all in very good condition. The front seats are also in very good condition, (though these are actually not original to the Challenger) and the seat tilt/adjust mechanisms are all in fine working order. The back seat is in good condition though somewhat brittle, (some tearing in the fabric) - but also included in this auction are a full set of front and back replacement, (see pics) fully lined/padded Challenger seat coverings. All rubber door/trunk seals, etc. are there - and also included are some brand new door window and quarter window strips. ...This Car is registered in the State Of Georgia, and as such this State does not require Titles for vehicles older than 1983 ....but this vehicle has clear history, and the Car will come with a copy of the original purchase receipt as proof of ownership, as well as new Bill Of Sale - which will of course all be provided to the new owner for registration purposes, etc. ...Thank you for viewing my Auction! ...and of course, should you have any questions at all - then please do feel free to let me know!
