Vehicle Detail
Lots of high resolution pictures and 3 Videos. Just scroll down! Vehicle is being offered at absolute auction, there is no reserve. The last Volvo 245 we sold was also a 1985 model and it fetched over $8,500 on eBay. We are confident that this beauty will bring the right price. We do these no reserve auctions to encourage bidding and because we are confident of the caliver of automobile we are selling. Also, nobody wants to place a bid, only to be turned down by the preset reserve price. She is THAT pretty. I RESPECT YOUR BID! We accept bids from all over the world. We will not sell the vehicle to someone local before the auction ends, nor will we place the car on Craigslist. Everyone gets a fair shot! 1982 Volvo 245 DL - 57k Miles - 1 Owner, original paint, super clean interior, excellent drivetrain and suspension, even original floormats! - A truly spectacular specimen! *57k garage kept miles. Original title in my possession.(see pictures) *Immaculate CarFax and AutoCheck history. Just read it and see. *Car has been home in Austin, TX. after being bought in San Antionio, TX. A gorgeous rust free Volvo! *Original paint, excellent ride and drivetrain. A rare Swedish beauty to behold. *It is extremely rare to find a Volvo of this vintage in such clean and healthy shape. Hello there eBayers, here is a true beauty. It is such a nice car, that there isn't really much to say about it other than it is near flawless. We are in the business of finding true collectible vehicles and offering them for sale here on eBay. Aside from some cars in my personal collection that we have sold on eBay, every now and again we come across something that we believe you may appreciate. We have sold quite a number of vehicles on eBay, all with positive feedback. (Credentials can be supplied on request.) Since we are in the business of finding true collectibles, the title is handed to us by the previous owner and remains a true one owner car until you purchase it from us. Please see Title section below for specifics regarding title transfer to you. It's an easy process and title is again, in our possession and ready to be transferred to you. Description: This car is practically immaculate, but for specifics, please read on: Drivetrain: Flawless. No leaks, motor is smooth as silk (see video), A/C blows and there are no maintainence issues that need to be addressed. Suspension and steering are tight and crisp with no looseness to be seen or felt. Transmission is healthy and shifts gears just exactly as it should. Overdrive button works. Over the course of my time as a specialty car hunter, I've had probably over 20 Volvo 240's. Only two of them have had transmission gear selector shafts that were tight and crisp. This is one of them. Usually, they are loose and move around when in gear. This one is nice and solid. Not very important, but it is a testament to the health of the rest of the vehicle in my opinion. Body: This vehicle, from all accounts and evidence has original paint. Notice the factory "Unleaded fuel only" sticker is still affixed to the body near the fuel filler door! Gorgeous. Rust free Texas car. Obviously, this vehicle is very pretty, but there will be a few nicks and light chips here and there. It is MUCH better than one might expect on a car of this year with original paint. The only body damage is on the front passenger fender. See picture. It appears that it has a light run in with a car backing up perhaps. It is not bad at all and in fact we had a rather hard time to show it accurately in the pictures. For being a 30 year old vehicle, she is in my opinion, immaculate. Having been a Texas car, the frame and undercarriage are super dry and healthy. The pictures say it all. Interior: Clean, clean, clean. Notice that the glovebox still has the rubber grip ring around the lock area? That's a surefire way of knowing that the car has been loved and taken care of. Volvo lovers like us know how hard it is to find an original one that is intact. It is a small thing that speaks volumes in my opinion. Car has never been smoked in. See picture of lighter. The ashtray is as also clean as the day it was bought. Please note - the dashboard does not have fading. The pictures may make it seem that way, but it is only because of the shadows from the factory tint at the top of the windshield being projected onto the dash. It still has the Volvo new car smell. The velour interior still looks new. I've had many people ask if the seats have been reupholstered and I tell them "no" with pride. This interior is original and 100% awesome. Again, the pictures say it all. Carpet looks new, as does headliner, visors, etc. The only two small issues is one very small crack on the dash. It is about one inch or so and has just started happening (you need to look hard, but please see picture of dash). There is also a small and light patch of discoloration on the passenger seat, but nothing that is too visible on first glance (see pictures). Overall, I would rate this interior a 9.25 / 10 Tires: Tires are in great shape and look relatively new. I'd rate the tread at 80% or more life left. Electronics & Electrics: Everything works and is healthy and functional. All windows, knobs, switches, everything. Title: Good blue title. We purchased this car from a specialty wholesale auction that benefits charity and the like. We are licensed dealers in Texas who deal in special one of a kind classics and similar vehicles. If you wish to keep the car in Texas, you must pay taxes and title fees for us to transfer the title into your name. If you live outside of Texas or want the car to be registered outside of Texas, then we can make arrangements and to the best of my knowledge, there will be no fees or taxes until you register and title the vehicle in your home state. Deposit and payment: Deposit is due immediately after auction, please ignore the 12 hour timeframe on the listing page, this is the only option eBay gives. If you cannot fulfill this obligation, please contact us before placing a bid and let us know. We will do our best to make accommodations. Remainder is due via cash or cashier's check within 3 days of auction end. Cashier's check must clear before vehicle is picked up. Again, please contact us before bidding if you need other arrangements. Storage and Pickup: We can store the vehicle for a period of 14 days for you. If you need longer, please contact us first, I'm sure we can make arrangements usually at no additional cost. Pictures: These are hosted on Photobucket. Please click on the picture to zoom. Video: Full 360 Degree walkaround: Engine running and being "revved": Short test drive: On Aug-20-12 at 13:37:40 PDT, seller added the following information: Dear eBayers, This is a quick note in the spirit of fairness to every bidder on the 1985 Volvo we have listed on eBay. A couple eBayers had requested additional info and I'd like to provide everyone with it. Below is a picture of the odometer since it was not plainly visible in any of the original visuals. Car was driven safely from 57,450 to our storage facility 18 miles away (thus, 57,468) and arrived in the same condition as advertised. Vehicle will remain there, covered indoors, until pickup by new owner. The supporting info we have for the mileage claim is based on the AutoCheck report, the odometer, and the health and cleanliness of the car (especially the pedals, usually a dead giveaway of the true mileage based on wear of rubber on pedals). We believe this mileage to be accurate. Please draw your own conclusions based on this info. In addition, vehicle was described as a 1982 in one spot in the ad by our eBay ad writer. The vehicle is a 1985, just as stated in the title and on the AutoCheck report. Cheers and thanks, Cool Gear, Inc.
