Up for austion is a very nicely optioned 1965 Mustang GT it is a real A code Gt mustang. This car was purchased new in Denver and has not moved from colorado. It needs some restoration but could be an easy resto for the beginner or take it to the next level and do a complete restoration. I will be listing this car once and I do not do second chance offers then I will start a complete restoration. The car was a factory 4 speed unfortunately someone has changed to an automatic, factory air ( missing the pump but everything else is there), Factory Disc brakes, 289 4v, Pony interior, power steerng. Trim Tag: Body 65a 289 4v Color M Wimbledon white Trim 26 Black Interior Date 16u July 16th DSO 51 Denver Axle 1 3:00 rear Trans 5 4 speed manual Built in San Jose Body: The body of the car is very nice, it does have some minor rust pass rear quarter needs a patch in the lower front and a small spot behind the wheel, wheel housings look good and dropdowns have a little cancer where the drain hole was, Driver rear quarter has a couple small rust spots nothing major, The front floor pans have some small rust spots in the typical seam, another easy fix, Frame rails, shock towers, trunk floor, torque boxes, rear frame rails ect dont look to have any rust issues the drivers frame rail has some small dents from someone jacking the car up. Id say the car is 80% rust free Ive owned a lot of mustangs and it is very solid, front fenders and doors are very nice. All the chrome and trim is nice could use a rear bumper, I dont know if the car had factory fog lights or not but they are not there, Interior: VERY nice pony interior, only needs the bottom of the drivers seat redone 2 small holes, Headliner, dash pad, carpet, door panels, rear seat, pass seat, all in very nice condition no rips or tears. Center console could srand to be restored. Drivetrain: It seems that the motor has been rebuilt at one time, recently. I dont know if it is the facrory motor or not I was told it was, I have all the factory engine parts other than the Intake manifold. I have the Distributor, Carb, valve covers, air cleaner ect. It now has an msd ignition, holley carb, edelbrock intake, headers, electric fuel pump ect it runs and drives good. The tranny is a c4 auto that was recently rebuilt I dont have any paperwork but it looks very clean and shiny and works great. wheels are factory I have the cap that is missing on the rear, tires are ok. On Aug-17-12 at 14:23:23 PDT, seller added the following information: Thought I would add the car Is a REAL "A" code, It has GT Options , disc brakes, exhaust exit from valance, pony interior ( was added at one time), a/c is factory, power steering is factory, Missing the fog lights, the front fenders have the holes from the GT emblems, the lower emblems and the stripe seem to be factory,The styled steel wheels are factory ford wheels, If someone was making a clone they used all ford parts the car also has all factory sheetmetal. I tried to get a Marti report but they only go back to 1967, If I dont sell it Im going to restore it as a True GT.
