Lots of high resolution pictures and a 360 degree walkaround video. Just scroll down! 1973 MG Midget Convertible - Nice, clean example of a classic micro roadster Hello there eBayers, here is a vehicle that is rapidly becoming more and more rare and harder to find in decent condition. We are in the business of finding true collectible vehicles and offering them for sale here on eBay. Aside from some cars in my personal collection that we have sold on eBay, every now and again we come across something that we believe you may appreciate. We have sold quite a number of vehicles on eBay, all with positive feedback. (Credentials can be supplied on request and we invite you to view our feedback. Last vehicle was an all original 1982 Volvo 245, sold to the Netherlands to a very happy buyer.) Description: This car runs and drives well, has a solid drivetrain, a pretty clean interior and a nice exterior, and like most any 1973 MG has some small things that need TLC, but for specifics please read on: Drivetrain: Engine and transmission are in nice operational shape. Engine starts up without trouble and runs and idles well. Carburetor is nicely tuned. Drivetrain seem to be on par with other healthy MG Midgets. Odometer reads 34,xxx. It is a 5-digit odometer, so we are just posting what the odometer says, I do not have paperwork to verify whether or not this is true mileage. Body: Hardtop included! This hardtop in in very nice shape and has a pretty shiny black finish. Overall the pictures do a pretty decent job of showing the condition. The previous owner and donor of this vehicle must have seriously loved his car. the body and interior have been well preserved. Though not perfect, she is of a better caliber than your avergae MG, we would say. There are nice vinyl factory style accents on pretty nice paint. There doesn't seem to be major paint blemishes other than the small bubbling in the passenger side between front fender and door (see picture). The front of the hood seems to have a textured paint chip guard coating. As far as rust is concerned, there are a couple spots that could use help, but neither seems major enough to be too troubling. The first is the floorpan on the passenger side. There is only a line of rust forming and no huge gaping holes. The other is the aforementioned bubbling under the paint between the front passenger door and fender.(see picture). I could not find other spots of rust that would need attention at this point. I would belive that a person who knows his or her MG to say that the rust on this vehicle is well below the average amount of rust, surface type or otherwise, compared to other british cars of this vintage. This vehicle has obviously been out of salts and cold perhaps all or the vast majority of its life. Paint is of above average sheen and quality for its year. Interior: Interior looks quite nice for the year and for the fact that this is a convertible and susceptible to heat fading and UV damage. We don't see any evidence of stressed cloth, plastics or fading. Carpet looks like it was done semi-professionally. It seems to be quite newish carpeting, but of only a good quality grade for fitment and quality. Pieces have been cut and installed well, but there seems to be a bit of slack in installation on the transmission tunnel and shifter area. Still, the carpet fits and wraps around that area just fine. Car comes with what seems like a complete carpet kit from Victoria British, and is still new in plastic bag. It is the Camel color, the correct shade for this car. However we did not install this kit because the carpet installed at the moment serves its purpose well and looks nice. Still, you are welcome to have the kit at no cost if you decide to take it. Electronics & Electrics: Everything seems to work and seems healthy and functional. Title: Good blue title. We purchased this car from a specialty wholesale auction that benefits charity and the like. We are licensed dealers in Texas who deal in special one of a kind classics and similar vehicles. If you wish to keep the car in Texas, you must pay taxes and title fees for us to transfer the title into your name. If you live outside of Texas or want the car to be registered outside of Texas, then we can make arrangements and to the best of my knowledge, there will be no fees or taxes until you register and title the vehicle in your home state. Deposit and payment: Deposit is due immediately after auction, please ignore the 12 hour timeframe on the listing page, this is the only option eBay gives. If you cannot fulfill this obligation, please contact us before placing a bid and let us know. We will do our best to make accommodations. Remainder is due via cash or cashier's check within 3 days of auction end. Cashier's check must clear before vehicle is picked up. Again, please contact us before bidding if you need other arrangements. Storage and Pickup: We can store the vehicle for a period of 14 days for you. If you need longer, please contact us first, I'm sure we can make arrangements usually at no additional cost. Pictures: These are hosted on Photobucket. Please click to zoom. Video: Full 360 Degree walkaround w/ Engine Running: On Aug-12-12 at 14:21:30 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE: Please read! I found out yesterday that this vehicle title is not in our dealership's name, it is in fact in MY name. My father liked this car enough to pay the taxes and transfer into a family member's name for keeping and driving. Honest mistake, we have a nice sized inventory and need a great memory to keep up with things. =) Therefore, it is even easier to buy this car. All we have to do is sign the back of the title and hand it to you! Please disregard the section above having to do with paying taxes, title and licensing. None of that will be necessary! You only pay for the vehicle sales price on eBay and the rest is up to you. Thank you!
