The story on this Mercedes 240D is that I bought it for my wife off a gentleman that hadn't registered it or driven it since 1999. She decided that she wanted a Volvo wagon. It has a 4 cylinder automatic, power steering and power brakes. It has a professionally installed extra gas tank in the upper part of the trunk. Believe it or not I drove it about 15 miles home and it seemed to run really good. The transmission seemed to shift well. I find no rust on the body anywhere. The interior is really clean and nice. There are no cracks in the dashboard whatsoever. The interior is completely stock except for an after market stereo and speakers someone installed at some point. No cracks in the glass. It is very straight with the original paint. There are some rock chips in the paint on the front and the sides. There are few small door dings. All the lights work. The only thing I have done to it is replace the battery, put primary and secondary fuel filters on it. It does have AC but I don't know if it works. The maintenance book is showing that there was a new factory built motor put in, in 1983 and the last service record is in 1986. It shows 154,000 miles. I do not believe the odometer is working. I cannot be sure of the exact mileage on this car. After I went out to take pictures of it, I noticed a couple small drips of oil which I was told is common for these diesels. You must keep in mind that this Mercedes has not been on the road since 1999. So how road worthy it is, I have no idea. I am selling it completely AS IS. Take this into consideration before you bid. At the end of the day, this is a very clean, beautiful and straight Mercedes diesel. The car comes with all the original manuals. It has a clear and open Washington title.
