Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE The 1969 Buick Riviera was built in late 1968, sold on October 25, 1968, and has a VIN around # 6000. My father purchased the car used in the San Francisco Area in December 13, 1986, with 111,141 miles. The car presently has 113,930 miles...that's an average of 2,700 miles per year. Registrations are included from 1968 to present. Looks like only two owners. The Riviera was always garaged and never taken out in the rain. It was repainted in a stunning jet black upon purchase. The car is very presentable with no dents, dings, scrapes, and certainly no rust. The white vinyl roof is original, although it is somewhat crazed, but still looks good. The chrome and stainless exterior trim are in excellent condition. The interior has the original white bench vinyl seats that are in good condition, although they could stand a good cleaning and the drivers cushion has several splits in the stitching. The dash pad and wood grain instrument cluster are superb. Door panels and the headliner are perfect. The Riviera is equipped with many optional items. The car has the rare Automatic Climate Control. When set to maximum heat (85 degrees) hot air blows from the floor and when set to maximum cold (65 degrees) cold air blows from the dash vents. Due to the San Francisco climate at 55 degrees, the AC could not be verified, although the compressor was running. The original Buick radio receives both AM and FM and works well with the optional power antenna. The Riviera has dual outside mirrors, with the driver’s side being remote control. The Riviera is equipped with Power Windows, Power Seat, Power Door Locks, Speed Alert, and a Tilt Wheel. The exterior has a set of Buick Road wheels equipped with 225/75/R15 white wall tires. The spare is also a road wheel. Bright exterior lower trim, a rare option, is included. The optional electric clock doesn’t work; they never do. This 1969 Riviera is also a GS Model, for Gran Sport. The GS engine includes a chrome air cleaner lid, a Positive Traction 3.41 differential that has no shudder on turns, firmer front and rear suspension, and exterior GS badges. It is also believed this car has the optional quick ratio steering, for the steering wheel only turns 2 turns lock-to-lock. Less than 1500 GS Riviera’s were produced in 1969. The Riviera is equipped with the 430 cubic inch, 360 Hp. high-compression Buick Engine with the Quadrajet carburetor fuel system, Dual Exhaust, vacuum assist Power Drum Brakes, Power Steering and Rear Wheel Drive. The engine starts right up, runs excellent, has plenty of power to spin the rear wheels, the TH400 transmission shifts smoothly, and the large drum brakes provide quick, sure stops. This Riviera has a Salvage Title. It was that way when purchased. No evidence of damage, repaired or not, was found upon inspection. There is a little star rock chip on the windshield to the left of the driver’s view, which doesn’t obstruct vision. The white vinyl seats and top look well, but could be cleaned up, dyed or repaired. The Riviera is a great performing car, and highly desirable due to its great styling, powerful drive train, and the GS option. The auction reserve takes these deficiencies into account. All original, unmolested stock 43 year old cars don’t come up too often. This highly optioned 1969 Buick Riviera GS with the black exterior and white vinyl roof with white interior in the distinctive second series Riviera design is a fine example of a desirable car built in a previous time when large, muscle cars were king. The Riviera is located in the San Francisco area, has current California registration, and a clear title in my name. A $500 non-refundable down payment is due through PayPal within 48 hours of auction close. Balance is due within seven days from auction close. The Riviera is 43 years old and is sold "as is." There is no warranty. Delivery, shipping, and transportation cost are the responsibility of the buyer. Registration fees, transfer fees, license fees, emission test and fees, safety fees are the responsibility of the buyer. I am an individual selling my father's car. I am not a dealer. I have been a member of eBay for over 12 years and have over 800 feedbacks. Thanks for looking and happy bidding.
