Vehicle Detail
1964 Pontiac Star Chief - 4 Door Hardtop. Pontiac built 479,498 1964 cars, 11,200 of this model. This is an amazing car. It is 48 years old and looks like it is 5 years old. It would be a shame to restore it. It can only be original once. Everything on the car works but the horn (I'm working on that). This is an original car. No sign of ever having any repaired body damage or paint work. There is a small dent on the right front fender just in front of the Star Chief Emblem (pictured). There is zero rust. It appears to have never been smoked in. The ashtrays are like brand new. It was sold new by Bud Meadows Pontiac, Portland, Oregon on 3-16-64. 389 cu. in. 4 barrel - 4 speed automatic, car cover, rear seat speaker -- rear window defroster -- posi rear axle, remote control left hand mirror --push button radio --2 speed wipers -- 6 aluminum 8-lug wheels-- Michelin tires 50% -- original Pontiac branded floor mats -- seat belts -- padded dash (looks new) The idiot lights all work. Somewhere in its life, 3 Stewart Warner gauges were added in the instrument panel. They look like they were born there. Temp, Oil Pressure, Volt installed below the dash are a Pontiac branded tach and vacuun gauge. The trunk is full (as pictured) of used spare parts. Also, about 10 years of back issues of the Pontiac Club Magazine SMOKE SIGNALS. A folder of old ads, factory show room brochure, repair manuals, copy of factory build sheet and window sticker. Laid out on the floor there is about 5 sq. ft. of papers. Even have receipts of repairs back into the 70's and 80's. Have receipt of a tranny and engine rebuilt at 120,00 miles. The speedo, July, 2012 reads 102,121???? I have no clue why. It could be speedo died and was replaced. The reason I say this is in the trunk is another speedo (why not???)..It has a frame welded trailer hitch. The car drives as it did in 1964. Tranny shifts smooth, accelerates well.. likes 60-70 MPH. It is hot here in the Northwest, temp stays at 180. You can fly into Portland, Oregon (10 miles from my home). I can pick you up and you can drive it to your home, and I mean to the East Coast, Europe may be a little difficult. Against advice, I'm putting my phone number here so you can call me directly. Please remember I am on the West Coast so direct your calls accordingly. I am not a dealer. I found this car and it is to nice to have walked away from. I do not have room to keep it....No, I will not tell you the reserve. Yes, you can make me a cash offer. You must be able to use Paypal or money wire transfer. Ain't doin no check from a bank in Nigeria. I will store the car in a closed garage for 30 day after you purchase it at no charge. Ok, this is everything but my boot size (#12) now, you have it all. If you are really interested, call me for info. If you just want to tell me your Grandmother had one just like it, but, it was a Buick Station Wagon and was a 1946 model, I don't care. Thanks, BOB 360 -903-5432.
