Datsun 510-Street Rod/1972 This 1972 Datsun 510 was previously purchased in 2007 from Don McLinnes who built the car while he was the manager at Rebello Racing Engines, a well known Datsun engine builder. They swapped in a 2.4L KA24 4 cylinder which makes a reliable 175 HP in its current form. The car has other tasteful mods as well. It is available in Miami, Florida for $13.000. The car was built in the 90’s and has been babied since. The previous owner took the car to a 510 specialist Troy Ermish where it received suspension and brakes upgrades.The stance is now perfect thanks to full coil-over and adjustable links, and the car stops quickly with the help of new Wilwood brakes all around. The massive 12” front rotors just clear the 15” Rota Wheels. The car has slim chrome bumpers and nice Euro lenses out back with orange turn signals. Inside, much of the interior has remained stock. Pro-Car seats and a sweet 2 spoke OMP steering wheel have the right performance look, and racing belts look right at home. The transmission is a 280Z 5 speed and the rear end is a 3.70 limited slip R160. The engine now has 12k miles on it and remains set-up with dual Mikuni 44’s and ITG filter. The package is very reliable, and it does not need complicated Turbo plumbing or injection to make very impressive power. Pain was done while the engine was out, so the Ford Jewel Green is properly matched throughout the engine compartment. The radiator is a new Griffin aluminum unit. This is a great package for a 510 that is meant to be driven. It is a quality older built which now drives like new thanks to the recent suspension and brakes upgrades. Check ou the detailed photos.
