Vehicle Detail
Up for auction, my everyday driver 87 GN. I recently bought a new Z06, and need to buy a daily driver to put a lot of miles on, as I just started a new job with a long drive. This car has been great, The original compressor quit cooling last year and was replaced along with the dryer, orifice tube, and was kept R12, which blows away 134 retro-fits in older GM's. The brake warning light was coming on once a month or so, and I replaced it with the standard vacuum setup, which works great (I still have all the OE parts I took off). This car has all of the best options, including: G80 limited slip posi, Concert II sound system, power windows, locks, antenna, trunk release, power seat, and body side molding. This car has been garage kept it's entire life, and still has the distinctive Buick new car smell, for those of us old enough, and lucky enough remember it when they were new. I've only sat in 1 other mint GNX that still retained the sweet smell LOL. The interior in in mint shape, only a small seam tear on drivers seat just from time, and wear. The seat covers are all still OEM. I recently replaced the plastic dash top piece that is bad about cracking over time. The top of the car will need painting soon, as it's still original as has fadded, as most of laquer painted cars that are 25 years old. There is no rust anywhere on this car, it has been a Southern car it's entire life. As far as modifications, the car was sent to Champion Racing Heads in Florida for its modifications. They installed the CAS V4 Extended big mouth intercooler, 60-1 turbo, 50lb MSD injectors, 3" Terry Houston downpipe, and an ATR 2 1/2" dual exhaust. The car also has a billet adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and Kenne Bell cold air kit with large K&N filter. While the car was there, fiberglass bumpers, and hood were also added to drop weight off the car, they look really great, and take hundreds of pounds off the car. A billet 911 lock up converter and cooler were also installed. If any "old school" guys remember the "Ten Second Turbo Buick Recipe" this car was built following it to a T. There is a drain plug in the pan, and the fluid has been regularly replaced. It shifts out nice and firm. There were no internal mods done to the tranny. The car has always been run with Mobil 1 since break in, and has had the flat tappet additives added with each oil change. The engine runs very well, very strong, and is very smooth. The old radiator was starting to leak a bit, and I purchased a ne B Cool radiator, and dual fan setup with Caspers installation plug and play harness. Nothing extreme, but the car runs great, and still gets great gas mileage. The guys in Florida do a wonderful and very professional job, if your any type of GN enthusiast, you should be familar with these guys. The car has had the lower G load body, and rear seat crossbar brace installed since new. No idea why the GN's didn't come with these installed from the factory? This is the tightest and best riding TB I have ever owned (I have had 4 since 89). The car has never been on the track, or had any type of sticky tire run on it, as a result, there are no cracks on the B or C pillars. This car has the $500 Kirban modified bolt in CD player, which looks right at home in the car, along with all new Memphis Audio separates in the doors and hat rack, an Alpine amp, and JL 10" Stealth box. The system sounds amazing, and also has an iPod integration cable as well. The car has the top of the line Python alarm with automatic start, turbo timer, and best of all the "Smart Start" phone system. If you have an iphone, you can start your car, monitor it, and have it send you a text if it's activated from anywhere accross the USA. Check out their webiste for more info. There are 4 years remaining on the prepaid contract. Everything on the car works perfectly except the cruise control. I replaced the very expensive chrome OEM multi function switch, and it didn't fix the problem. There have been a few instances in the past where the AC compressor would not engage. I recently replaced the pressure switch, and it is doing fine now. There is a small ding on the drivers door, and a few other small places in spots, nothing bad, the car has never been wrecked. The car will need front bumper fillers soon, the rears are new, and look great. It is a wonderful car, I hate to sell it, and love driving it, even with the new 640 HP Z06 parked beside it, but I need to buy something practical, and that I can put a lot of miles on, and will stillhold some value. May trade for a nice Sequoia, 4runner, or IS Lexus. This car has not been abused, I am the youngest owner of this car at 42 years of age. I love quick black hot rods, but I do not abuse my vehicles. Any questions, or picture requests, please let me know. On Jul-28-12 at 11:44:15 PDT, seller added the following information: I have taken about 60 pictures of the car, and will gladly email any of them if you are interested. There are over $6000.00 in performance, stereo, and alarm upgrades done to this car, "Buy it now" is a real deal! I really would like to keep it, but I have found a nice 30 MPG Black IS, that is calling my name. This car will not last long on here, I've not seen a nice car go below $12,000.On Jul-28-12 at 17:05:26 PDT, seller added the following information: I am getting a lot of questions, and requests for more pictures. Please send me your email address in the request for more pictures. The interior is really mint. I willl try and answer questions I have received at one time. The chrome escutcheons, are great, I never use the pull strap, as well as the previous owners, so they are perfect. I do have the new old stock hood badges, not a big fan of any badges anyways. The front tires are in great shape, the rears are about 1/2 worn. The wheels have not been curbed, and paint is in good shape. One wheel has some light surface scratches (all centercaps are new). The car is great on the highway, no vibrations. Steering wheel is in great shape. Honestly do not think the passenger seat, or rear seat have been used much, and are as new. Yes, the scanmaster goes with the car, and I have the manual for it. The headliner, and visors are all perferct, and yes, the vanity mirror light is present, and working. Check out www.viper.com/smartstart.com/ for any questions on how the iphone controls the car, the coolest alarm available. I guess the only minor interior flaw is the silver paint on the edges of the actual vents are faded a bit, I bought all of the new old stock units and will sell them with the car. The windows work fine, but are slow as all of these cars are. The car is for sale locally, so who knows what will happen with the auction, I will end it early if the car sells locally. If you have zero feedback, I may very well cancel your bid. I had a non paying bidder on my Syclone here just a few months ago.
