Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Up for auction is a 1948 Packard Station Sedan This car had just one previous owner, who took it off the road in 1965. The collector that owned this car passed away recently, and I am selling it for his widow. His nephew is very knowledgeable about the car and his collection, and I can refer and technical questions to him. The collector also left pretty detailed notes about the car as well, so we should be able to cover most questions. This car is highly optioned and includes a radio, heater, defroster, front driving lights, back up light, and overdrive. It has every option offered in 1948 with the exception of the swan hood ornament. The overdrive has the kick down feature for additional speed, when required. Even the blue light on the dash works, advising you that you are going fast enough to engage the overdrive. It also includes the original tripod jack in the vinyl container and a lug wrench for removing wheel bolts. In the three years of 1948 ,1949,and 1950 only 3,864 Packard Station Sedans were produced. Recent Work Done on Car 1. Gas tank was dropped and drained 2. Radiator flushed and antifreeze installed for -32 below zero. 3. Oil and filters recently changed 4. New plugs, points, rotor and battery installed. 5. The brake master cylinder was rebuilt and wheel cylinders replaced. 6. A complete new exhaust system was installed from the manifold back (exact duplicate of the original) 7. Replaced five tires with correct size and correct wide white walls 8. The body was professionally painted with the exact color of the original green 9. The wood in the tailgate and rear window that joins the tailgate, was replaced by a master antique cabinet restorer. The fit is better than new. All the rest of the wood has been left to its original patina, with wood stain and ultra light guard protection. 10. The Dynoc material on the doors has been replaced with a exact duplicate of the original wood grain This car runs and drives like a new car; it's powerful, with all systems working. The collector’s nephew has driven the car and reports it is completely sound; starting, driving and stopping just like it should. He said he would adjust the clutch pedal a bit but nothing else. The car was registered in New York State in 2011. Registration is transferable and all estate work has been completed.
