Vehicle Detail
In today's economy it is about saving money. period. But if you were like me the upfront, initial cost kept me from investing in a vehicle that would, over time, save me money...until this car. For sale is a previously owned 2000 Ford Focus with 91,670 miles. This car has a 'rebuilt salvage' title. I bought this car June 2010 with the expressed interest of saving me money. My other vehicle is a F-150 truck that gets around 15 mpg. I bought this car to do my small job errands and my sons to use for school. I am not a dealer and this is the first time I have tried to sell a vehicle on Ebay. I have had this car for 2 years and put 34,000 miles on it and according to my figures it has saved me more than I paid for it. I used only 'premium' gas in this car even though others told me it was a waste of money. But according to my figures, I got better mileage to justify the difference in cost. I got between 26-33 miles per gallon using this car. Almost double of what I was getting with my truck for the same usage. If I were to use my F-150 (at 15 mpg) it would have cost me over $8,100 dollars for fuel (at $3.59 per gallon) compared to using this Focus (at 30 mpg) it cost me a little over $4,000 for fuel. The difference has more than paid for this car. I am now looking to sell this car to upgrade. This car is over 12 years old and does have many things to show its age. I am a 'full' disclosure seller (see my ratings and feedback score), but with lack of 'automotive' knowledge will give as much information as I can and will try to answer any questions you may have, so feel free to message me with any questions. Information that I can give you is as follows: There is an option when listing this 2000 Ford Focus as to either a 121 or 122 cu in 2.0 engine. I couldn't find out for sure which one it is, so I have listed it as 121 cu in engine. The body does have some paint chips, rubs and dings and a few body creases that actually are not very noticeable, but they are there. Look closely at the rear panels over the wheels and you will see some slight creases. I never felt they were noticeable enough to repair. All lights work on the outside (turn signals, brake lights, back up lights, headlights, parking lights). Horn works. A/C and heater work well. Automatic trunk release by steering wheel works. Wipers work. Power windows all work. Power Locks work. Power exterior mirrors work BUT I did back out of the garage once and clipped off the driver's side mirror. I reattached it and it works, but you can see it has been broken. (A replacement mirror cost approximately $28 on Ebay). The tires on this car still have good wear. I have also noticed that the back wheels are bowed a bit, I am assuming that it was wrecked in the back end. I have had the wheels adjusted in as far as possible without doing frame work. I don't notice the same thing on the front wheels. On the interior, the upholstery is in very good condition with a few small stains. There is a slight cut on the passenger side door armrest. The radio and CD player work but the digital display doesn't show all the information, you may want to replace it. This car starts somewhat loud and then runs very quiet (don't know why that is). We are a smoke free family but my wife says that she could tell that it has had someone who smoked in it. I can't tell it but she can. The back seats fold down from releases inside the trunk, making this car able to haul some long, big things. The trunk has a donut tire, a jack and a wrench. There is a warning light that has been off and on for the 2 years I have had this car, it has been checked out and is evidently a computer glitch. This is a 'pick up' only sale. I do not have the ability to ship this car. I live in Northern Ohio, 10 miles off of I-80/90 (Ohio Turnpike) and approximately 14 miles from I-69. I am 2.5 hrs drive from Indianapolis, 2 hrs drive from Detroit, 3 hours drive from Chicago, 3 hrs drive from Cleveland, 3 hours drive from Columbus and 2 hours drive from Lansing. If you are looking for a 'go to work' vehicle or something for the kids to get to and from school and want to save money doing it, this is the vehicle for you. It is NOT a show car, it is 12 years old, but will still save you money without investing a lot up front. I believe that I am listing this car at a fair price... I hope this car does for you what it has done for me. Message me with any questions. Thanks for looking and for your bids....
