It has a clean history, looks sharp, runs and drives just great and needs nothing. It has very decent mileage for the year, everything works, tires are in good shape and it's priced inexpensively. If you need a good little vehicle for a younger person or just affordable 4x4 transportation this is a great choice and a smart buy. exterior The paint and body on this Explorer are in very good shape for the age. It has nice gloss, no obvious damage and it looks all original. The wheels look nice and tires have very good even tread all the way around. The glass is fine, no cracks in the windshield. It's a Colorado vehicle and we don't salt the roads here. The only rust on it at all are the 2 little seam spots in the front door jambs on the bottom. It was common on these due to poor seam sealer in just those spots. The photos document it well. There's a couple light scuffs on the trim, few little scratches, and front hood edge is a bit pitted from freeway driving. This vehicle does also have some very faint hail on the hood, not even visible in the photos, lightly apparent in person though. For the age and mileage it's remarkably clean, you'll like this one! interior The interior is clean too. It doesn't smell like smoke and I'm picky, but it does have a few little marks. The carpet, dash, doors, headliner, all very decent. It's well equipped and all the accessories work just fine. We have 2 sets of floor mats for it. There's a little wear on the drivers seat bolster but again, for the age it's definitely nice. Given the dash mat, it was probably owned by an older person. mechanical I put about 15 miles on this Explorer giving it a good shake down. It fires right up, idles smooth and quiet, no check engine light or rattles. The transmission feels very tight and clutch has a very very long ways to go yet. The vehicle tracks well, brakes straight, 4x4 works fine, really no complaints at all. These Explorers were very durable, really the only thing that ever goes bad on them are wheel bearings and automatic transmissions. The bearings in this one have little-no play and with the standard trans, it's one less thing to worry about. They get better fuel economy too! comments This is a great little SUV and a smart buy.
