Vehicle Detail

Its Erik, Owner of one of the largest VW Rabbit restoration sites on the web www.therustyrabbit.com . I'm selling one of my first rabbit trucks. I've owned her since 2002, and we've had many miles, and lots of good times. Over the years I've done A LOT of work to her. This is just a partial list of things I've done in the last 5 years. 2010 Rebuilt a high compression 1.8L short block, and put a high flow oil pump in it. Then added a 1984 1.8L GTI big valve solid lifter head with either a g-grind cam, or a 1980 cam ( I don't remember.) Also Installed an Interstate H-6 Batttery. I also replaced all the Motor and Trans mounts at that time. I ran new starter cables, and replaced the air filter, and all ignition components with Bosch parts. 2009 R/R Original 4speed trans, with a 5 speed trans with a tall over drive for low RPMs at high speeds (.75 fifth gear) With a new 210mm Clutch pack including resurfaced flywheel and seal. At that time I also replaced both front CV axles with rebuilt 90mm units. 2008 I Replaced all 4 tires, with new Khumo tires, replaced both front lower ball joints, and both steering boots I also had the car aligned. Then I Replaced both front pickup truck specific front calipers, front pads, and front rubber flex brake lines. In the rear, I replaced both wheel cylinders, the rear brake shoes, and both truck specific E-brake cables. 2007 I removed and sold the cap, and painted the bed with gray rustolium. Its ready for anther coat. 2006 I replaced the main fuel pump, and 3 of the high pressure fuel lines as well as the fuel accumulator and fuel filter. The list goes on and on. The Fuse box has been replaced, a lot of the engine harness has been fixed up. Anyway, you get the picture. The car is mechanicly a very nice car. I'm a rabbit fan, and a mechanic, and I've kept up with her. I never put more then 5K on her in a year and most years much less. When I parked her in late 2010 every thing listed above had less then 15K on it. most have less then 6K The body is ROUGH. I mean it. I always treated her as a work truck, and so did the first owner, so she's no show winner, but she is still drivable and I've put over 2K in weight in the bed many times with out issue. There is rust on the rockers, and by the rear tires, the pass side strut tower has been repaired back in 2005ish, but its ugly, and will need to be redone in the next year or 2. I parked the truck in mid 2010, As I have another truck for work, and many other "toy" cars. As a result you would be very wise not to try and drive it home. It runs, but It needs to have the gas drained and refilled. I would also do a fresh oil change. That plus a good charge on the two year old battery, and you'll be rollin. I will also include a bunch of spare parts. I think I have a spare fuel pump incase the one on the car has gone bad from sitting (a common issue when these car sit for more then a year) a few spare relays, some of the hard to find bullet fuses, and other odd ball stuff. The truck also comes with a second tailgate that is not pictured. I'm selling this car, because I now drive the 1979 Rabbit C you can see on my web site. I don't have the $$ to keep up with all the cars I have, so its time to purge. Thats pretty much it. If I think of anything else, I'll add an update. Oh, Please don't waste my time wth scams or offers to ship. THIS IS A CASH DEAL. You bid, You or someone you trust comes to my house with cash, and I give you a clear title and help you load it up. THATS IT. No trades, no pay half now/half never, no BS no scammers no shipping, and no Bailing out on the deal. It cost $$ to list this thing.
