Vehicle Detail

1952 Studebaker Sedan I am the second owner of this 1952 Studebaker.  I bought it from the family of the original owner in 2006.  Everything about the car is original...including the paint and interior.  The car is complete right down to the original air cleaner and all trim.  There are not many 60 year old cars that you could find AND buy with a reserve this low that you could enjoy immediately and fix up little by little (IF you chose to do so) while you continue to drive it. It is a 232 cubic inch V8...the second year of Studebaker’s V8 that was used in essentially the same form until the end of US production in 1964.  It is equipped with a 3 speed manual transmission with overdrive.  Far simpler and more dependable than the automatics of that era, AND with the overdrive you get low RPM highway cruising. The car starts and drives and stops.  Everything works (lights, wipers, etc.).  I have not driven it much in the last 6 years so you will want to check out all systems before you take it on a long road trip, however.  Oil pressure is good (40 pounds first starting and while driving...5-10 pounds at hot idle).   The clutch slips if you push it.  Plan on replacing this soon. The body does have some surface rust here and there where the paint has worn through and some rust in the lower portions of the doors.  Obviously the drain holes got clogged at some point.  Other than that, the body is remarkably rust free.  No rust in the usual places.  Floors, rocker panels, rear of front fenders, trunk floor, and drip rails are solid.  The chrome and stainless trim is all there, but would need to be redone if you have a full restoration in mind.  The bumpers have the optional fancy overriders in place.  The doors shut like a bank vault and the rubber seals are still protecting the interior from water intrusion. The interior is original.  The driver’s portion of the front seat needs help, but that could be fixed inexpensively with a set of period correct seat covers.  The original rubber mat is still there but getting brittle.  All glass is good with the exception of the wing vents...one is cracked and the other is starting to bubble on the edges. If you are interested in bidding on the car, be sure to click on the links below for many more pictures… 1952 Studebaker Sedan The car is located in Hayward, California.   You may pick up the car in person, or I will help load the car on the carrier of your choice.  A $500 deposit is due 48 hours after auction close.  Payment must be made in full within 7 working days following auction close.  Vehicle must be removed within 4 weeks of auction close.      I have a clear California title to the car in my name.  As with any vintage car, no warranty is expressed or implied.  Please feel free to ask any questions about the car or to request greater detail about any part of the car.  I can also supply additional pictures if you need them
