Vehicle Detail
Vehicle is being offered at absolute auction, there is no reserve. The last Volvo 245 we sold was a 1985 model with slightly higher miles and it fetched over $8,500 on eBay. A dealer in the Netherlands bought it. We are confident that this beauty will bring the right price. We do these no reserve auctions to encourage bidding and because we are confident of the caliber of automobile we are selling. Also, nobody wants to place a bid, only to be turned down by the preset reserve price. She is THAT pretty. Lots of high resolution pictures and 3 Videos. Just scroll down! 1982 Volvo 245 GL - 66k Original Miles - Spectacular Specimen! *66,162 Original garage kept miles. This is documented and 100% original mileage. We have registration records and also a logbook of fuel expenditures, dates, and mileage. (see pictures) *Immaculate CarFax and AutoCheck history. Just read it and see. *It may sound cliche, but literally, an older lady owned it for most of its life. Car has been home in Austin, TX. after being bought in Katy, TX; which is near Houston, just two hours away. *Original paint, excellent ride and drivetrain. A rare Swedish beauty to behold. *It is extremely rare to find a Volvo of this vintage in such clean and healthy shape. Hello there eBayers, here is a true beauty. It is such a nice car, that there isn't really much to say about it other than it is near flawless. We are in the business of finding true collectible vehicles and offering them for sale here on eBay. Aside from some cars in my personal collection that we have sold on eBay, every now and again we come across something that we believe you may appreciate. We have sold quite a number of vehicles on eBay, all with positive feedback. (Credentials can be supplied on request.) Description: This car is immaculate, but for specifics, please read on: Drivetrain: Flawless. No leaks, b21 motor is smooth as silk, A/C blows and there are no maintainence issues that need to be addressed. Transmission is healthy and shifts gears just exactly as it should. Overdrive button works. Over the course of my time as a specialty car hunter, I've had probably over 20 Volvo 240's. Only two of them have had transmission gear selector shafts that were tight and crisp. This is one of them. Usually, they are loose and move around when in gear. This one is nice and solid. Not very important, but it is a testament to the health of the rest of the vehicle in my opinion. Body: This vehicle, from all accounts and evidence has original paint. Notice the factory "Unleaded fuel only" sticker is still affixed to the body near the fuel filler door! Gorgeous. Rust free Texas car. Obviously, this vehicle is very pretty, but there will be a few nicks and light chips here and there. Nothing serious and there is nothing that is noticeable on first or second glance, but after about a week, we noticed some 1mm clearcoat chips when we really look hard. For being a 30 year old vehicle, she is in my opinion, immaculate. Having been a Texas car, the frame and undercarriage are dry and healthy. There is curb rash on the front passenger side of the front air dam under the front bumper. (See picture) Nothing major, and nothing that some touch up spray paint couldn't fix. The air dam itself is in great shape with no structural damage or cracks. The pictures say it all. Interior: Clean, clean, clean. Never been smoked in. See picture of lighter. It still has the Volvo new car smell. The velour interior still looks new. I've had many people ask if the seats have been reupholstered and I tell them "no" with pride. This interior is original and 100% awesome. Again, the pictures say it all. Carpet looks new, as does headliner, visors, etc. The only two small issues are a few relatively average cracks on the dash (see pictures) and a bit of worn carpet in the rear cargo area. (see pictures). Overall, I would rate this interior a 9.5 / 10 Tires: Tires are in great shape and look relatively new. I'd rate the tread at 85% or more life left. Electronics & Electrics: Everything works and is healthy and functional. All windows, knobs, switches, everything. Vehicle comes with an authentic Volvo stereo from those years, purportedly the original stereo from this vehicle, kept in storage after the Kenwood CD player was installed. Title and payment: (Please read all.) Good blue title. We purchased this car from a specialty wholesale auction that benefits charity and the like. We are licensed dealers in Texas who deal in special one of a kind classics and similar vehicles. We have a passion for these unique cars. It is primarily operated out of love and respect for these great examples of automotive history and then for business. As a buyer, if you wish to keep the car in Texas, you must pay taxes and title fees for us to transfer the title into your name. If you live outside of Texas or want the car to be registered outside of Texas, then we can make arrangements and to the best of my knowledge, there will be no fees or taxes until you register and title the vehicle in your home state. Deposit is due immediately after auction, please ignore the 12 hour timeframe on the listing page, this is the only option eBay gives. If you cannot fulfill this obligation, please contact us before placing a bid and let us know. We will do our best to make accommodations. Remainder is due via cash or cashier's check within 3 days of auction end. Cashier's check must clear before vehicle is picked up. Again, please contact us before bidding if you need other arrangements. Regions we will sell in: We are glad to sell worldwide. We know that many buyers in the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Austria are eager to collect such beauties, especially since Texas cars have the healthy, solid body and chassis these buyers desire. Characteristics that are hard to find in colder climates such as theirs. We are glad to cater to overseas buyers, we just ask that they also adhere to the payment and buying rules set forth in this ad. Deposit and payment: Deposit of $500 is due immediately after auction end to our PayPal account. Remainder is due within 3 days. Storage and Pickup: We can store the vehicle for a period of 14 days for you. If you need longer, please contact us first, I'm sure we can make arrangements usually at no additional cost.
