Vehicle Detail

This Crosley Hot Shot is the cutest little vehicle I have ever seen. I've only seen 1 other and demanded to buy it, but it was not for sale under any circumstance. When I found this one, I HAD to have it. There is a very good article in the current Old Cars magazine about the President of the Crosley Owners Club and his Hot Shot. Between 1949 and 1952, there were either 2075 or 2,498 Hot Shots made, depending on the source used. Ford made more cars than that in a day in 1952. These are extremely rare, especially after 60+ years. As the Article states, "they certainly deserve to be more than a footnote in history. The cars were among the most nimble performers on the road and were a lot of fun for the money at $849. new, insanely cheap! Not only that, but the Hot Shots have a lasting claim to fame after winning the 1950 Sebring endurance race, an event that used a formula to measure cars against each other based on engine displacement."The 4 cylinder engines were very hardy little numbers putting out a whopping 26 horsepower out of 44 cubic inches. You didn't need a jack to replace a flat tire (4.5x12"). Just have your wife hold the corner of the flat and change the tire (kidding). This particular car has had the modification of the windshield. It does not have top irons or a top. The car runs, trans shifts and drives like a Hot Shot. The car is far from perfect, but can be driven as is. Unfortunately, I don't have the time that it would take to put this Hot Shot into the condition that I would demand. Like the President of the Crosley Club, Dave Anspach, I would want my Hot Shot competing with cars many times more valuable. David is winning trophies everywhere he takes his Hot shot, read the article! Be well and Bid wellDana NewquistThis car is also being marketed locally. I reserve the right to pull the listing at any time if the car sells. So, if interested, bid or call me 805-637-8641The car is displayed at the Murphy Auto Museum in Oxnard Ca.
