Immaculate, no stories 1989 Mercedes Benz 420 SEL sedan with 140k original miles. Beautiful inside and out and tremendous color combination. Accident free and clean carfax. Owned by discerning Mercedes Benz Club of America member, with only two prevous owners. Tremendous high-way ride. Very well treated and maintained -- it is a well preserved and excellent running sedan. These cars are getting hard to find in this condition, and this is an excellent opportunity for any Mercedes collector / enthusiast to acquire a rare W126 near the end of the production run in outstanding conditions. This car was approximately $60,000 new in 1989. Selling only to make garage space for another collectible car. Would make great every day driver or weekend cruiser. Fully loaded with all the luxury options. With the exception of stereo and CD Changer mounted in the trunk, this is a completely original vehicle. (Original radio is also included.) The vehicle history report is clean without any accidents or damage. Everything works as it should.The drivetrain runs beautifully. The V8 engine is silky smooth and very strong. No smoke or leaks. Transmission shifts perfectly. Power windows/sunroof/antenna/seats and mirrors are working correctly. The air conditioning blows ice cold and the heater works well. Even the headlight wipers are working. All of the gauges and instrumentation are functioning properly. The white paint is glossy and brilliant over the entire body and appears to be entirely original. The exterior is in beautiful condition, and only a few random stone nicks. Bumpers and all of the lower moldings are in excellent condition as well, with exception of very recent surface scratching of paint on corner of drivers side rear bumper. The alloy wheels are spotless and exhibit no curb rash. The undercarriage is very clean as well. There is no rust anywhere on the car. The interior has been well maintained and is in extremely good condition. All of the leather surfaces are soft and supple and clean, with little discernible wear. The trunk mat is missing but all of the carpeting is clean, with no rips, holes or damage. All of the trim panels and trim pieces are intact and tight. The dash and all of the trim in this car is in excellent condition, without any cracks, fading or other damage, with the exception of a few cracks in the center console wood. Non-smoker. New tires with 4k miles. Pa inspection good until 11/2012. Spent $2,000 on brakes, all-round mechanical refurbishment (see repair invoice in photos) by Mercedes specialist, including brakes, tires, battery, belts, and fluids. I have put 6,000 highway miles on this car over the past year without incident. Original owners manual and toolkit. This is a beautiful 420 SEL in excellent condition. The 420SEL is arguably the best of the bullet-proof W126 series, and is not saddled with the air suspension of the 560SEL, which is very costly to repair.
