Up for auction Is a Barn Fresh 1966 mustang fastback, I found this car in Wyoming it has been sitting on Jack stands in a heated workshop since at least 1978, I purchased it from the son of tha mechanic that owned it and he passed away. The son does not ever remember the car leaving the shop. I put a battery in it, added some fuel, Bled the brahes and drove it around my neighborhood. I removed the carpet to clean out the rodent droppings and the build sheet was junk oh well... The car is ABSOLUTELY RUST FREE.. I have owned a LOT of mustangs and have never seen one that needs nothing as far as sheetmetal repair, Even the battery tray is good, The car has been painted twice and the paint job is not good, 1970s laquer and some lumpy body work. I think there was a repair to the pass side rocker panel, The car needs to be stripped before paint wnless you want a 70s hot rod or rat rod, Trim tag info Year 1966 Assembly plant San Jose Fastback 289 2v Body: 63a 2+2 fastback Color: 8 Springtime yellow Trim: 26 Black Date Feb 17 1966 Dso sales district Los Angeles Axel 2.81:1 Trans C4 The interior is complete fold down, trim ect, needs fo be completely redone, I was told it is numbers correct but the intake manifold is dated C8 I dont know what else has been changed I havent dug into it that far. It runs fine but wont win any races. Most of the stainless is there no bumper on the front. rear glass and side glass is nice windshield is broken. Old school smoothies and bias ply tires finish it off the car looks like it shoild be ar a drag strip in the early years If I keep it i may stay with the retro look who knows.
