Up for sale: 1966 Mustang Convertible 289 V8. Listing for a friend, this is a good driver quality car that is mechanically sound. The engine runs smoothly and the transmission shifts perfectly. The engine has been rebuilt, and only has 41k miles since rebuild.(odometer reads 45,867k miles not sure if that is original or not) The tires and brakes are in great shape along with the suspension. It has manual brakes and manual steering. All of the electronics are in good working condition, including the power convertible top. The convertible top is fairly new and is in excellent condition. The exterior is in good condition and has been refinished at one time in it's original color. There are, however, some minor flaws on the exterior. There are some paint chips that have been touched up, and there is some bubbling on the lower part of the rear quarters behind each wheel. Overall the exterior shows well, and the paint job still has a good shine. The door jams and the trunk jam could use a repaint, but again we are not representing this Mustang as a show car as the price reflects. With some TLC the exterior and jams could look excellent. The interior is in very good condition. The carpeting has been replaced at one time and only shows some minor fading, but as you can see in the pictures still looks good. The seats and dash are in excellent condition. This car was used as a weekend good weather cruiser for the last 20 years, and always stored indoors during the summer and winter months. There is some rust on the rear inner fender wells that I'm sure could be repaired very easily. The undercarriage is driver quality with some minor corrosion issues (pics available upon request). If your looking for a great driving 66 convertible this is a great candidate only needing some exterior cosmetic TLC.
