Vehicle Detail
This is my parent's Mustang. My father purchased the car in 1995 in the condition seen in the before photos. The car came from Virginia and was placed in a storage unit, where it remained in the condition shown until my father purchased it. There were some engine parts, but no engine or transmission came with the car. A donor 67 Mustang coupe was purchased and the 289 4bbl engine and C4 transmission were used in the 68. The 67 owner stated that he had just rebuilt the 289 engine. The Mustang was stripped of the few thing left and the body was reworked and any bad sheet metal was replaced. The Mustang was restored and finished in 1996. My parents are members of the Mahoning Valley Olde Car Club and the vehicle was used for my mother to drive to events on occasion. The car has mostly sat as I just checked the odometer and found that it read 5,366 in 1995 and in 2012 now reads 6,885 for a grand total of 1,519 miles in 16 years of driving or about 94 miles a year. The car is a nice driver and was built as a driver not a show car. There are some chips in the paint and on the passenger side quarter panel is a dent and a crack in the paint from a guy and a bicycle. In the trunk the trunk springs need installed, they are torsion springs and were never put back on. The engine has a lifter noise when it first starts up after sitting, but it quiets down after a few seconds. My dad said they hardly drove the car, so he figures it is just from sitting. The driver side window glass was never replaced and has what appear to be sand blasting etches. My father never replaced it as he said he never planned on driving with the windows up. I just replaced the thermostat and intake gasket. As I was cleaning the car a couple weeks ago and drove it between my house and my parents house I noticed it was heating up and found the thermostat stuck. When I was replacing the thermostat gasket, I noticed a little oil leak from the front of the intake manifold gasket. I figured since I was under the hood I might as well change it. Everything else on the car I will just let the pictures speak for themselves. I can email additonal pictures if desired. On Jun-12-12 at 14:46:56 PDT, seller added the following information: I had a question from a friend of mine looking at this and he asked about the mileage, the odometer reading on the title issued in 1995 says 5,366, but it states in odometer status EXCEEDED. I guess that doesn't matter much as the engine & trans came from the 67 donor. But I hope that may answer any questions.
